Big Macintosh smells Stop n' Burger food al...
Equestria Invading
Chapter 17
"Here's the lowdown. What we're gonna do is..." But Big Mac stopped talking, his head curiously turning the other way, like he was gazing at something outside the truck. He took a whiff of the air, and his eyes shot open as wide as they could go. "Ah...Ah smell Stop N' Burger! AH SMELL STOP N' BURGER!!!"
Even though the mare couldn't have heard us inside the cabin, the truck lurched in a way off of the straight path, the wheels bouncing and rattling the trailer atop some sort of rugged terrain. The employees wobbled as the chains clattered loudly, the stallions' flab jiggling from the motion, but more so from them fidgeting in their spot on each passing second without their incoming fix, a look of desperate, restrained desire frozen in their faces with sweat creeping along their fur.
Seven minutes later the truck screeched to a halt without so much a speed bump, and without a moment's hesitation the stallions tore through the back door and ran out into the open, not even bidding farewell to their prisoners.
"Huh." Alissa noted simply. "...there's that."
"Listen, guys, something's come up!" Horace added. "If I'm right, then it's our duty to stop the ponies and save humanity!"
"You had that dream to?" Alissa asked suspiciously.
"Luna coming in, telling me that our only hope is to save humanity from living in sweatshop fast-food production? Yeah."
"This is insane." Ian said to the wall in front of him. "This is insane. This is insane, insane, insane."
"Ian, I know this looks bad, but we gotta keep it together, or humankind goes like we do!"
"...and how are you sure this all wasn't just some crazy coincidence?" Ian argued.
"Well, it must've been a pretty friggin' crazy one, 'cause look!" Horace squirmed his head around, worming the necklace up along his neck. Ian and Alissa looked at one another, somewhat concerned for their friend, but he managed the gem to fall from over his collar and in front of his shirt. "See? It's real!"
"Okay, there's that, but can we trust her? She could be on their side, for all we know!"
"Best shot we've got, so far. She's the only one saying 'here's how we stop this!', but even then, we'd be screwed either way, so what else have we got to go with?"
"...I think he's right." Alissa agreed. "Better than nothing, after all."
"Alright, alright, fine. but how do you expect us to do that when we're locked up in here?!"
