Just as the ball lands on the ground and Ai winds up her leg, you make your move. "You're the prettiest girl in the galaxy!" you yell.
"Wh-wha?!" Ai stammers. She's so caught off guard by your compliment that she slips on her running blades and with no arms to catch herself, she falls onto her back with a hard thud.
Not wanting to waste any time, you dribble the ball around her fallen form. After she recomposes herself, Ai sits up and immediately saw your trick. "Sabotage!" she yells. She maneuvers back onto her blades in an instant and goes after you.
Seeing this from the corner of your eye, you know it's only a matter of seconds before she catches up to you so you need to act fast. You're still a distance away from your goal but you have no there choice. You need to make this shot else Sakaguchi will catch up and steal the ball from you. You wind your leg back for one Hail Mary kick.
You bring your foot down and feel it make contact, but not with the ball as you see it lightly drift in front of you. The consistence of the material around your toes makes you realize you kicked the dirt, a realization supported by the fact that you're falling to the ground. In just a half a second, you learned a valuable lesson on just how hard a ball made of rubber and air could be.
"Shujiko! Shujiko!" you hear Ai's voice yell.
"Ugh. How long was I out?" you say, realizing you blacked out.
"Maybe a few seconds. Are you okay? That was quite a fall."
"Yeah, I think-" you suddenly cough. You were having a hard time breathing for some reason.
"Oh no! Your nose!"
"What?" you bring your hand to your nose to check it. "Ow!" you yell. Just touching it caused a jolt of pain. You also saw a drop of blood on your fingers.
"Hold on, I'll straighten out for you."
"Wait, what do you mean-" before you got an answer, Sakaguchi grabbed your nose with her mouth. She turned her head and you heard and felt a crick in your nows. "Yeow!"
Sakaguchi backs up. "How does it feel now?"
You bring your hand up to your nose again to hold it from bleeding. You notice your breathing is smoother though. "It's better, thanks."
"L-let's put the game on pause for now. We can continue after you've recovered"
"Y-yeah, good idea," you say holding your nose.
Ai lets you wrap an arm around her as she escorts you to the nurse. Your face is red from the extremely embarrassing fall you had.
"I-I'm not the prettiest girl in the galaxy by the way," Sakaguchi says.
"Wha? Oh, that? No, Sakaguchi, you're-"
Suddenly you see her legs flash before you, kicking the ball in front of you to her goal. You realize you've been deceived. "Seventeen to zero, Shujiko," she declares proudly. "Our epic battle shall conclude Friday. I-if you're free, that is."
You give a warm smile. "Sure thing," you say, excited for the first time about playing a sport.
