You shook your head. Even if you wanted to help Ben, which you don't, trying to rescue him from Lisa would take too much energy and risk you becoming her second meal of the day. Ben was a goner, doomed to be digested by his own wife and turned into food for his unborn baby.

You cast your eyes down in a moment of silence for Ben before you straightened your shoulders and steeled yourself for the road ahead. You weren't out of the park yet, and a lot can happen within three feet.
Taking a deep breath, you scanned your eyes across the hallway, listening for any incoming steps, before you cut loose and sprinted toward the front entrance, and to your freedom.
