Before either Jouko or Haruko could speak up, you spoke up.
"I think I can."
"Shujin?"
"Kou-san?"
Both Jouko and Haruko were obviously surprised that you were speaking up now. But hey, you weren't going to risk either girl trying to explain things to the frowning nurse. You were pretty sure you were safe from getting detention, but on the other hand you really didn't want to risk it.
Plus, well... you figured that you might be the only person here who actually knew Jouko. If you left her to defend herself (and Jouko wasn't nearly as good with words as she was with her fists) this whole mess might get pinned on her, when in reality it was just an argument gone out of control.
"I wasn't here to see all of it, but I know the gist of what happened, Nijou-sensei. Haruko provoked Jouko into fighting."
"Hah!"
"Wha- Hey, that's not true!" Needless to say Jouko was happy that you seemed to be taking her side. Haruko was obviously displeased, looking at you with betrayal written on her face.
You hoped you could fix that, though.
"That's not to say Haruko's at fault, though. Jouko was definitely the one who changed things from an argument to a physical fight."
"Shujin?!"
"There, see!" And now Jouko was looking at you in disbelief, while Haruko seemed mollified that you weren't throwing her under the bus.
You weren't going to let Jouko think you were pinning this on her though. Even if you didn't already know that she could have super scary yakuza sent after you, she didn't deserve to be blamed for this mess.
"Please, Nijou-sensei... I don't think either Jouko or Haruko are really to blame for this. Sure, Jouko might've started the fight, but that's only because she lost her temper after Haruko said some things that really offended her. And if Haruko had just calmed down for a little bit and let Jouko give her side of things, she would've learned that Jouko's not trying to get hurt anyone at school."
Both Haruko and Jouko were frowning now, though Jouko was looking at you with... you couldn't really tell what that expression was. Confusion? Bewilderment? It definitely wasn't an expression her 2.5d model from the game had been capable of showing.
"You really believed me?"
That small, quite voice didn't suit the outgoing, prideful princess at all. You weren't going to let her go thinking she'd lost a friend at this school!
"Of course I did! And I still do! When we met this morning, I could tell right away how important your cause is to you! I know you wouldn't let innocent people get hurt on your watch!"
Jouko's frown faded, a small but satisfied smile taking it's place.
"...Thanks, Shujin."
Across from her, Aki was watching you two wordlessly, while Haruko's frown only deepened. After only a few more seconds, Haruko sighed and put a palm to her forehead in defeat.
"Okay... I'll admit that I might've been too quick to judge you... Jouko, was it? I... I really care about keeping the peace at Pandora, and I can't stand the thought of someone coming in trying to bring violence to the school... but it seems like I misjudged you. Kou-san seems like an honest boy, and I don't think he'd be friends with someone who really was just a violent thug." It was clear that this was a bitter pill for Haruko to swallow, but you were honestly just impressed that she was apologizing at all. Most times in anime when two characters opposed each other like this, neither side would be willing to see things from the other's point of view.
"Fine... And... I'll admit that I lost my temper too easily. I should've tried to explain myself more..." Jouko grumbled, looking away from Haruko, unwilling to meet the shorter girl's eyes.
"Well... it sounds like what happened here was a misunderstanding. One that could have turned bloody, but... fortunately it seems like no one was hurt. Haruko, Jouko, the two of you will be coming with me. The rest of you... school is over for the day, so please return home or to your dormitories."
"Wait, we apologized! Why are we still in trouble?!"
"Amaya-san, just because the two of you apologized to each other, you still had a fight on school grounds! Not to mention the fact that you yourself broke school property!"
"Urk!" Aki's words were like arrows piercing Haruko's heart- the fact that they were true (and thus uncounterable) just made it harder for the pony-tailed swordswoman to bare.
"Not to mention the fact that I'm certain you might want to get changed before going back to your dormitory. Unless you'd rather make the walk back looking like that."
Aki's mood seemed to have improved, because she actually winked at you as she made that crack about Haruko's appearance- reminding the busty girl that she was practically putting on a one-woman wet t-shirt contest!
"Eek!" Yup, Haruko had clearly forgotten that detail. The busty beauty turned away from you cheeks burning, wrapping her arms around her huge chest. Jouko snorted in amusement, though she still seemed a little down about the fact that she was still going to get punished.
"Come along, you two. Unless you want to ruin the good mood that Kou-san has worked so hard to restore."
Well... that was that.
For all the excitement of the last few minutes, it sure seemed to end pretty... mundanely. Aki walked back to the school building, Haruko and Jouko following after her. Though of course it was still a treat watching those lovely ladies leave. Jouko possessed and ass that was out of this world, and thighs thicker than any you'd ever seen, and while Haruko and Aki might've been distinctly top-heavy, both ladies possessed ample rumps and wide hips.
The other people- the nameless schoolmates whose names you didn't know- dispersed as well, and you were left standing on your own in front of the gates. All that was left to show that there had been a brief but intense fight was the large puddle of water on the ground.
1) You (finally) have an uneventful walk home.
2) Someone stops you before can leave the school grounds, having seen you get involved with Haruko and Jouko.
3) Two weeks later, you have another encounter with a new heroine by your apartment!
