While everyone else left to tend to their own devices, Rarity made haste along the beach crunching sand underfoot and leaving huge footprints as she went seeking one thing and one thing only.
Actually, maybe two things, maybe more. She of course wanted to meet all the darling little humans acquire more knowledge about a strange new world, that much was true.
However, a more pressing matter had come up, one that in Rarity's mind came before all else in her hierarchy of needs (besides her friends' safety and well-being of course) and that was looking her best all the time, and glowing with inner beauty, and being pampered and fawned over.
Rarity knew that there had to be a human city somewhere near the coastline if her intuition was correct, and everypony know that where there's a city, there's a spa.
Deep shiatsu massages, essential oils and fragrances, seaweed wraps, exfoliating mud baths, manis and pedis galore, she wanted to be pampered and treated like a queen.
With proper monetary compensation of course. She wasn't some kind of nasty slave driver after all like some other ponies in her position might be, although the more she thought about it, those little nimble hands could be used for other purposes as well, especially in the workshop... or other places... like the bedroom...
Rarity shook off that last thought and scolded herself, You should be using your wonderful brain to find the humans and stop thinking with your lady parts. Priorities, dear.
Just as expected. after taking long strides down the beach Rarity could see large buildings coming up the horizon that was unmistakable for beach hotels and resorts and she could feel herself getting a little giddy.
This is what Pinkie must feel like when she's about to make new friends Rarity thought.
Rarity crashed up the beach in a full sprint, eager to get near civilization as soon as possible and not really taking much attention for what might be underfoot.
She unwittingly crushed a hotdog stand, which, thankfully was abandoned by its owner after the initial call for evacuations came in.
It only took three great strides for Rarity to close the gap and she was there, ready for her spa treatment.
There was only one problem. There was not a single soul in sight and aside from the crashing of surf in the distance, the air was eerily still and silent.
"Ok, this is starting to creep me out. Where is everyone?" Rarity muttered, and then called out, "Uh. hello, is anyone in there? I'm a customer that wishes to be served."
There was no response, at least, not an intentional one. Rarity thought she saw movement flicker near the entrance of one the hotels, and she pretty something just moved behind one of the windows.
Rarity sighed and crooked an arm under chin, and began thinking. She was fairly certain that the humans had gone into hiding, and that they were hiding because they were afraid of her.
How was she going to convince them that she wasn't a monster and didn't mean any harm?
She needed to hit upon some kind of solution and quickly.
