Chapter 37
"A vacation?" The group of ponies before Celestia asked at the same time. The solar monarch couldn't help but smile. Obviously, all of them had come prepared for her to give them a mission or something like that. And while it was true that she mostly only called them to the capital when there was trouble, today would be the exception.
"Yes, a vacation, my dear ponies. You have worked so hard and done so much for me and Equestria that it is only fair to reward you in some way."
"Princess, you don't need to..." Twilight tried to reason, modest as ever, but she could barely get a word in before Pinkie exploded right next to her. The pink mare jumped up and down, laughing all the while.
"A vacation!" she shouted at the top of her lungs, "Thank you, princess! Oh, I'm so excited? Where are we going? Gryphonia? The Crystal Empire? Oooh, maybe the Dragonlands?"
"Uhm, a vacation actually sounds nice..." Fluttershy added, her smile barely noticeable next to her pink friends exuberance.
"It truly does. It has been ages since anyone of us got to properly relax, hasn't it?" Rarity turned to her friends.
"True, true," Applejack answered. Out of all of them, she probably needed a relaxing trip the most, though she would never admit it.
"And I'm not saying no, either!" Rainbow shouted, "So that's settled. We are going on vacation! But say, princess," the athletic mare raised an eyebrow, "Why exactly have you brought us to your bedroom to tell us that?"
"I was going to ask..." Twilight mumbled. Even as her student, she had never been in princess Celestia's private chambers and seeing them kind of made her flustered. It didn't feel like a place she should be in... especially since there was a strange, lingering smell in the air.
"Let me show you," Celestia answered. Quickly, she turned and reached out with her magic, opening the portal just wide enough that the ponies could see through. All of them gasped as they saw into the strange world for the first time.
"You are going on vacation, but not on Equestria," Celestia laughed, "I've found this little gateway just today. It leads into an entirely different world. Inhabited by these creatures."
She pulled her plaything out of a pocket in her dress. As much as she would have loved to have kept it stuffed in her underwear, she didn't want to be so crass when she had visitors. Besides, it wouldn't be that long until she was alone with it again...
"What is this?" Fluttershy suddenly flew forward, snatching the human out of Celestia's hand. Her usual shyness was forgotten as soon as she saw the unusual animal. Curious, she raised it to her face, trying to get a better look.
Of course, she didn't know that Celestia had obliterated its free will, so she simply thought it to be a very well trained animal when it got close to her nose and rubbed itself against it.
"This is a human, my dear," the princess answered, trying to hide her smile as she saw that her pet had become completely tame, even to other ponies. "This world is called 'Earth', and humans live there. Not all of them are like this one, tough. Some of them might be afraid of you, at first. This is another reason why I'm sending you there - to study these humans. But don't worry," she said, turning her gaze to Twilight, "this is not an assignment. The most important thing is for you to have fun, and nothing else."
Twilight and her friends looked at each other, excitement beginning to build. Of course, Fluttershy wanted nothing more than to throw herself through the portal right then and there. After all, a whole species of cute animals lay on the other side. Twilight was the same, though she was more interested in visiting another world.
Like both of them, each of her friends had there own ideas. Applejack and Rainbow Dash were already hectically discussing swimming through the ocean. If the whole planet was smaller, they would be titans and could probably try to race each other around the equator. Pinkie was shivering, thinking of all the tasty alien treats she could find there. And Rarity... she ogled the human in Fluttershy's grasp. Then, she turned to Celestia.
"Tell me, princess, how sentient are these humans? It seems like they can be trained?"
"Oh yes, Rarity. They are very receptive to magic and you can easily communicate to them, if you want."
"Perfect. I wanted to visit the spa anyway. Maybe I can get them to pamper me, instead."
"Rarity!" Fluttershy yelped, "You can't make them do that! They are so..."
"Don't worry, Fluttershy," the princess said, a devious smirk on her face, "You can do whatever you want with the humans. As I said, they are very agreeable."
"If... if you say so, princess..." Fluttershy mumbled.
"Well then, what are we waiting for?" Rainbow shouted, itching to get going, "Everyone get dressed and then we can visit this human world!"
The friends nodded at each other, and after only a few minutes, each of them arrived back in Celestia's bedroom with a fitting outfit of what they wanted to do.
Fluttershy had opted for her normal clothes, since she was planning to spend most of her time with the humans. She was wearing a simple knee-length skirt, which flared widely against her hips, a creme colored sweater, and red sneakers.
Twilight was much the same, sporting her usual white tank top, as well as form fitting, dark red leggins. She opted to go barefoot, though, and was clutching a small package filled with all kinds of arcane equipment to study this new world.
Rainbow Dash and Applejack were both clad in bikinis and nothing else, except for Applejack's hat, of course. Rainbow's bikini was black and skimpy, almost scandalous. A cloud with a rainbow colored lightning bolt shooting out of it was emblazoned on the back of her bottoms. Applejack's bikini was much more modest, cupping her full breasts in a generous, red top, while her shorts emphasized her muscle laden figure.
Pinkie had chosen a blue one piece swim suit, which barely contained her curves. Though her first priority was to sample the local sweets, she would never say no to a bath!
Rarity was clothed in an elegant, orange sun dress, a wide brimmed hat, and sandals, leaving her toes bare.
"Well then," Celestia giggled, taking her pet back from Fluttershy, "I guess you are all ready. Simply walk through the portal and enjoy your vacation!"
The six ponies all shouted their appreciation... and finally, one by one, they walked towards the portal. Their arrival in the human world was imminent...
