Abbie's new outfit consisted of black leggings that went from her feet to mid-thigh, a purple skirt, and buttoned shirt. It was conservative enough for her parents but still looked sexy, although that wasn’t her intention; she just wanted to look cute. Heather on the other hand went with her super short shorts that showed off her impossibly long legs. Her skinny shirt barely came down past her belly button. Anytime she lifted or moved her arms, her midriff was exposed for all to see.
"For the menu tonight, we have spaghetti and meatballs," Heather said while bringing two cups of tea into Abbie's room. She set the drinks down on the desk and fell back into Abbie's bed where she was sitting, playing with her new smartphone. "Do your parents like spaghetti and wine?"
"Uhm, yea they do, but how are they going to eat if they are Lilliputians?"
"Well, duh. I realize they are Lilliputians. You need to have more faith in me. I have my Gulliverian friend making their food. Don't worry, he's a great cook."
Abbie's ears perked up. "Is he coming by? Can I meet him?"
"Of course you can. He's already downstairs in the kitchen. I didn't introduce you to him earlier because he's kinda busy."
This was it for Abbie. An opportunity to prove to herself that she'd grown to a Brobby by seeing a fellow human from the smaller race. "What's his name?"
"Brian."
"Wait, you mentioned him before."
"So, you've been paying attention to my stories.” Heather joked. “He's my ex-boyfriend."
"You're ex agreed to cook dinner for my parents?"
"What? Is that strange to you?" Heather grinned. "That little sleaze-ball wants to get back together so bad, he'll practically do anything I ask."
"So he's okay with cooking?"
"Isn't that what I said?"
"It just sounds odd."
"Well, why don't you come downstairs and ask him why he's fucking weird." Heather jumped out of the bed and headed out the door, "come on, I'll introduce you to the pig."
Abbie followed Heather closely. This was the first time she was going to see a Gulliverian. Even when she was a Lilliputian she never saw a (400ft.) Gulliverian, now she was going to see one from the perspective of a Brobdingnagian. But that's if she was a Brobdingnagian. Only if. She really hoped Brian was an inch tall.
“Where are you, ya little shit.” Heather said in a funny tone upon walking into the kitchen.
“I’m right where you left me, ya ditzy blonde bitch.” A squeaky voice said.
Heather and Abbie set their headsets to listen in on the Gulliverian frequency. They walked over to the kitchen counter nearest the stove. There was Brian, a hunk of a man at one inch in height. He was tending to a spaghetti meal scaled to his size, working at an oven...scaled to his size.
“Who you calling a blonde bitch?” Heather said with a fake angered tone. “I oughta squish you under my foot.”
“I’d like to see ya try.” Brian looked over behind Heather and saw a girl, about the same age as her, but much shorter and cuter. “Well, who do we have here?”
“This is Abbie,” Heather told Brian. “Pig, meet Abbie. Abbie, pig.”
“Hello.” Abbie said in her mousy voice. She was flabberghasted. Right before her, was a real life Gulliverian. Only an inch tall in her perspective. Abbie walked past Heather in almost a zombie like state. Her crotch was about level with the counter and Brian. New feelings were coursed through Abbie as she looked down at the one inch figure. It was the first time she didn't feel small in comparison to another person.
“Hello there, Abbie,” Brian said in his deep masculine voice. “It is a pleasure to meet you. May I ask, how did you get mixed up with this sorry excuse for a Brobby?” He was referring to Heather.
“Oh, Hah, hah.” Heather mocked. “Tell me, why haven’t I squashed you yet?”
“Because you love me.” He was dead serious.
“Oh, be still my quivering loins.”
“Oh, come on Heather, you know you want me. Why else would you have asked me here tonight.”
“Because I want you to freaking cook.”
“Yea, okay.” Brian laughed. “You want me to cook for Abbie’s parents who are Lilliputians. She doesn’t look like a Lilliputian to me!”
“She is!” Heather objected. “I mean, she was. She won the Brobby Lottery and now she’s a Brobdingnagian. But she really was a Lilliputian. Tell him, Abbie.”
“Yea,” Brian said turning to Abbie who still had her mouth opened. “Tell me how you were a Lilliputian.”
“I…” Words escaped Abbie. The whole scene in front of her just seemed so out of place. “I am a Lilliputian. I mean, I was a Lilly, but I won the Brobby Lottery from school and now I’m a-”
“No shit?” Brian cut her off. “Are you guys fucking with me? Don’t fuck with me, I’m not in the mood for that shit.”
“She’s not joking Brian.” Heather said. “And watch your fucking language. Anyway, if you want proof that she was a Lilly, just stick around when her little parents show up.”
“Ah, I get it.” Brian said. “This is just some trick to keep me here tonight. Come on Heather, just admit it, you want me to spend the night over. Just come out and say it! You want your little sugar bear tonight.”
“You’re fucking disgusting.”
“Wha--?” Abbie heard herself say. Her phone vibrated in her hand as she received a text from her mother stating they were set to arrive in half an hour. “My parents are on their way.”
“Well then, I must return to cooking.” Brian gave a smug grin to Heather before showing her his back.
“Well then,” Heather mocked his voice. “Come on Abbie, let’s get the tables ready.”
The girls proceeded to set the table, including a section in the middle where Brian and her parents would sit. In Brobdingnag, most homes were equipped Lilliputian and/or Gulliverian tube transports. These tubes were a hybrid of rail and suction that transported little train cars at incredible speeds from a central station. The tubes were equipped with sorters and routers that worked efficiently to transport all the cars heading to their unique destination.
Heather’s home was equipped with both the Lilly and Gulliverian tube receptacles at her kitchen counter. She cleaned and wiped the area with care because even the smallest speck of dirt would show up as boulders to Abbie’s Lilliputian parents.
“I get so excited every time I meet a Lilliputian.” Heather said as she finished cleaning the kitchen. “You guys are just so tiny.” She said looking down to Abbie.
“I’m not tiny anymore.” Abbie squeaked.
“To me you are,” Heather giggled as she patted Abbie on the head. Heather then grabbed a small basket of bread and delivered them to the dining room table.
“Don’t listen to her,” Brian said. “You’re fucking huge to me anyway.”
A smile formed on Abbie’s lips. “Thanks.”
A red light and alarm sounded at the arrival of Abbie’s family at the tube exit on the kitchen counter. Abbie’s heart fluttered. She was about to see her parents and siblings for the first time after she grew. It was also the first time she was going to see a Lilliputian as they are to Brobdingnagians. Any doubts that she’d grown had already receded from her mind.
Abbie changed her headset to the general frequency and said, “Hello?”
“Abigail, is that you?” It was her father. “We’re getting out of the tube right now.”
Abbie’s heart raced even faster. She looked intently at the little red LED light above the tube entrance. At her size, she couldn’t actually see the entrance doorway, but she knew it was there.
“Wow, this place is amazing,” Abbie’s mother said as she emerged from the tube. Her four youngest children, Ben, Edward, Dennis and Lena were clinging tightly to her waist for protection. Everything was so massive to them. They were told this by their parents, but they still really wanted to see their big sister again.
Next, out came the twins, Martha and Lucas. Both had turned 15 recently. Unlike the rest of their siblings, they were excited to visit Brobdingnag. They were perhaps a bit too oblivious to the potential dangers of this country.
“Where is she?” Lucy, the oldest asked in a disgruntled tone as she emerged from the tube last.
“I’m right here, where are you guys?” Abbie took a step forward. Her parents looked up into the sky and saw their ‘little’ Abbie all grown up. Even the gentle footsteps from Abbie were like earth shattering quakes. The quadruplets clung to their mother even harder and were in tears. Her mother calmed them down and reassured them that the giant that stood before them was just their sister and that she would never hurt them. Abbie couldn't see the commotion that was happening below her, but if she knew, she would apologize for scaring her siblings. “Did you guys come out of the tube?”
A warm breeze overcame the nine Lilliputians as they stood in awe. Lucy and the quadruplets were shielded behind their mother as Abbie’s skirt filled up their entire view. Heather walked in just in time to see Abbie leaning over on the counter and...
