Chapter 10
You have an idea. You dash underneath the sheet. Then you run to the space underneath her shirt. Like you expected, the place is so decked out that the audience can see you even under the covers. (You later learned that they secretly planted a camera and tracker on you, which was the real reason why. They could show you rummaging through the sheets and also pinpoint aerially where you were on the bed.)
Once she’s finished counting, Jessica immediately tramples over to the pillows, but several Uh-ohs redirect her back. She slower inches towards her shirt, directed by the audience. You realize that somehow the audience knows where you are in these sheet caverns, which will allow you to enact your plan (although you’re not quite sure how they know yet).
“Oh I see,” she exclaims, tiring through her shirt with her mouth, but to no avail. You must be careful that her sudden movements don’t trample you, swerving out of the way several times. After realizing that you weren’t in her shirt, she throws it across the room and feels around.
“Are you saying that she’s nearby?” she asks as she feels expecting you.
Bells resound from the audience, and you make your move. You race to the corner of the bed where the sheet is tucked in. Suddenly the audience starts encouraging her to move, and she eventually figures out the direction. Once she gets close, however, you duck underneath her and run just as fast to the middle of the bed. This causes some people to ring Uh-ohs because you’re now on the opposite end of the bed, but other more astute audience members to ring bells encouraging her, since they know she must uncover at the corner here in order to get to you.
“Make up your mind guys,” she shouts, confused at the mixed signals. Her immediate instinct is to think that you’re performing loops around her, causing them to change their minds about whether you are near or far so quickly and scans the area around her body with her arms.
