Tails Microscopic Voyager
Chapter 13
Blaze jolted up in shock; ' Tails! ', she exclaimed in surprise. Though most of his body was cat-like in appearance now, she could tell it was him thanks to his namesakes relatively being intact; he was the only being or person she knew that had that.. well... deformity. She looked back down at her swollen abdomen in disbelief, she was pregnant with Tails!?!? She quickly looked back up at the live ultrasound and watched silently with concern. She hung on every little movement he made, and saw his tails slowly start to transform. She didn't know how to react to this, she wasn't necessarily angry at or sad for him, but she was worried.
She almost yelled at her doctor to tell her if he was okay, to which the doctor looked very confused and responded; ' it is your highness, but, how did you know it was male? Its genitalia haven't developed yet '. Though she initially avoided it, she looked back at the feed, near his groin; there... was nothing. She almost panicked, but instead she closed her eyes to calm down. She looked back down at her torso and sighed while putting her hand on her stomach. She whispered to herself; " Tails, what have I done to you? ", shedding a tear. Her memory sparked, she was reminded of that day she was with Cream, naked. Quickly realising that the tingle she felt was him, and thought If she didn't ignore that feeling she probably could've prevented this.
She was distraught to say the least, she was actually on the brink of tears. She didn't know Tails that much, but she knew he didn't deserve to die, especially like this. To her this counted as killing, because her reproductive process most likely would erase his memory and make him a completely different being. She felt that fact alone condemned her, she felt that she was responsible. She can't even do anything about it except wait, if she tried to remove him he'd immediately die, he was bound to her and was now dependent on her womb for everything to survive. She asked the doctor to leave her for a few moments to which he complied. She began sobbing over this loss, as she realized she pretty much just took out not only her friend, but Sonic's, Amy's, Knuckle's, and even more disheartening, Vanilla's and Cream's to.
She spent hours on end crying while simultaneously trying to come up with an explanation she could tell his and her friends as of what happened. After awhile longer, she finally calmed down and simply stared at herself while patting her stomach. A new feeling began to take over as she did this, a feeling of warmth, possibly... love. She knew this was instinctual, but she continued to do it out of free will to soothe herself as well. She noticed that she began to pur while rubbing her belly, but didn't mind. Her purring became loud, loud enough to be heard if someone was with her in the room. This soothing of herself and presumably her new child continued for a long time, until she felt Tails kick. This only further satisfied her, she even began to coo as she felt his little kicks from inside of her.
She was soon happy, even if this was Tail's end in a way, this filled her with joy. Though she wasn't planning for a child until she married a noble, Tails would make an excellent heir. Even if his former self was lost like she believed, she would raise him as an intelligent mobian again, even if she wasn't as smart as he was. After some time talking with her doctor about some specifics, she calmly left to go home and finish her other responsibilities for the day. She knew she would have to inform her friends about Tails eventually, but since she didn't have another meeting planned with Cream and Vanilla until next month, she kept to herself and to her little "passenger" til then.
She dreaded how they would react, but nevertheless the time had come to tell them the news. Her first stop was obviously Cream's home. On her way there she noticed actual missing person signs for Tails, which again incurred her guilt, but she carried on anyways. As she approached her friend's house she saw quite a few missing signs on their house's walls, noticeably more frequent then anywhere else. She took a big sigh before knocking on the door. Vanilla answered rather happily seeing her again, but she seemed a little off put. As she let her in she called for Cream, which in less then a minute appeared at her side. Cream was jumping with joy that her friend had returned and abruptly hugged her. Cream immediately noticed that Blaze was a little more... plump then when she last met her and she made it apparent. To which Blaze, putting on a happy expression to hide her guilt for now, told them she was pregnant.
The two rabbits were in awe, though Cream didn't really know much about this subject, she still knew enough to be excited. Her mother on the other hand simply smiled and looked at Blaze in a certain way, as to say she sympathized with her and was happy at the same time. After some settling in, their conversation eventually reached the topic of Tails. Vanilla unknowingly informed Blaze that Tails hasn't been seen for almost a month and that everyone was worried about him; especially Sonic. As she said that Blaze became anxious, anxious enough that it was clearly visible.
Vanilla asked her if something was wrong to which Blaze nodded. She took a gulp before telling them Tails was gone, but most likely not in the way they thought. Vanilla dropped her utensil as she heard that, she broke her usually calm and polite character in surprise. She didn't think Blaze knew Tails was missing let alone his whereabouts. She reluctantly asked if Blaze knew what happened to him, and once again she nodded.
She finally spat out that Tails was... the reason she's pregnant. Tails somehow got small enough to fit inside her at a rather inconvenient time, resulting in what must of been one of her eggs absorbing him. And now that some time has passed, he was now "her's". She tried explaining that by the time she figured this out she couldn't remove him without killing him, but Vanilla's look didn't change. Blaze looked down and said she was sorry, that there's nothing she can do. Vanilla simply stood up and walked over to her without a word.
Blaze braced herself for whatever her reaction would be, but she wasn't prepared for a hand on her shoulder. She looked up at Vanilla, she seemed to understand and didn't show any signs of malice or regret. She simply patted Blaze's shoulder and told her it was okay, that it wasn't her fault. She said that she would miss Tails, but to look on the bright side, Tails now had a caring mother. Blaze couldn't find a word to respond with considering all the emotions she was now feeling. She barely stuttered out; ' y-you really t-think that? ', Vanilla told her she did, that anyone would be lucky to be her child, and that's not just because of what they might inherit. That certainly added to it, but her inner self was the real prize; and that Tails probably did that because he wanted her to be his mother.
Blaze suddenly got up and hugged Vanilla while saying; ' thank you '. Vanilla embraced her with open arms and let her pour her emotions out. After everything calmed down Vanilla said that they should tell the others of this wonderful news. Blaze agreed and they relayed it to all of Tails friends. They all had different reactions to the bitter-sweet announcement, but they all seemed to agree that this wasn't particularly bad; that if anything she should be proud of what she's done. She's finally given him the loving parent he's never had, and someone to make sure he's never alone again.
eventually the time came for his (re)birth, and everyone close to him and Blaze was there to witness it.
