Tails immediately remembered what had happened and was scared. He tried crawling away but the doctor with her picked him up, cut his cord, and said he was a boy before handing him to Blaze. He tried to use his tails but he couldn't hover, his other tail was gone, and the remaining one was similar to Blaze's. He couldn't escape now, so he curled up in a ball and just hoped she wouldn't kill him. He soon heard her voice greet him and welcome him back.
He tried to adjust his eyes to see her but he heard another familiar voice; ' hey buddy ', to which he almost instinctively responded; ' S-Sonic? '. He heard the room fill with gasps, before Blaze gawked; ' Tails, your memory... '. He quickly started apologizing and begged for her not to hurt him, she lovingly responded; ' I wouldn't hurt you Tails, besides, you needed a mother right? '. Despite her hospitality towards him he still feared her, he didn't understand that the tone she just used was that of affection, not sarcasm or something else. He felt her hands suddenly warm up and move him closer to her, which caused him to panic and cry out for Sonic. He then felt himself pushed up against her fur and heard her say he was okay, and that she's happy to be his mother.
He knew exactly what she meant by that and couldn't believe it, those words couldn't of come from her mouth; right? He abruptly felt tired again, he tried to ask Blaze something but he was interrupted by one of her fingers starting to pet him. He was again surprised as he started to pur, each stroke of her finger made him calmer and started making him fall asleep faster. He tried telling Blaze to stop so he could clear some things up, but the only sound he was able to produce was a weak murmur before he fell asleep in her arms...
