Petri Dish's voice caught in her throat as she looked down and saw you lying prone on the floor and breathing heavily. She could sense that you put a lot of magic into charging the sperm cells and could easily recognize the signs of mana fatigue and also the dangers.
She couldn't' in good conscience go through the conception until the human had completely recovered and was ready to proceed.
Looking Glass must've felt the same way because she then stated, "I think it might be time to take a break. The human doesn't look so good."
Petri smiled in relief that she wasn't the one who had to say it, and responded with, "Agreed. We're far ahead of schedule so we have more than enough time to finish up here. Let's take 5 and let the human rest for a bit."
"Thank you," you wheezed, feeling the leaden weight of magic fatigue come at you full force. You should've known that trying to alter Billions of sperm with your magic would come back to bite you, hard. It's a good thing that you had company because if you had tried to do this on your own, you have no idea of what might've happened.
"So what do we do now? Are we just supposed to stand around and wait until he catches his second wind?" Looking Glass asked while she peered down at your still body.
Petri Dish sighed heavily and adjusted her glasses. "For the time being, yes. He's going to need all the strength he can while he helps us with the conception, and I don't want to risk him blacking out at a crucial moment. He's going to stay right here until I can be sure he's ready to go on."
Looking Glass rolled her eyes and reared up in exasperation. "Isn't there any way we can help him recover faster? We're so close to finishing this project and getting an 11-month vacation inside Cup Cake's womb that I can practically taste it!"
Petri Dhish looked at Loojing Glass, then at the human, then back at Looking Glass. She bit her lip. She had a reputation as a stern, calculating mare of science, but even she had needs to be filled.
He was just laying there, exhausted and completely at their mercy. Surely he wouldn't mind, this was ultimately all for his sake, anyway.
After a moment of intense deliberation, Petri Dish decided...
