Twilight was gone, apparently to talk about your accommodations which it's the reason why it sucks, you thought you were going to stay with her given the size of her home, it was obvious that there was going to be rooms and all but you forgot this part where she decided to mount her own school.
You feel a bit guilty and embarrassed about getting involve with other ponies of the town that are being asked to give an room and eat their food. Worse still, is a family whose filly is a prodigy within Twilight's tutelage and she is using that connection for you which seems... unnecessary and a bit wrong. It's gonna be awkward... speaking of which, She did said alot of about fillies with talents, you knew that Twilight is teaching Sweetie Belle once she started on using her magic more but on this world there were more than her. You couldn't help but think on which fillies Twilight was teaching, You knew of Sweetie Belle so that means going into Cookie Crumbles' home which were also former home of Rarity but what about the others?
You sighed as you started reading on another book, it was another magic book or rather on the theories of certain space and time spells, while useful, it wasn't to enough to warrant an binge reading. You were a bit worried and nervous about what will come to your way. You put aside the book and went for another. You deliberated avoided information about the culture, originally, you wanted more to feel it and see it with your own eyes rather than reading it but due to the recent explanation given by Twilight, some concerning about the mares that "baited" you made you reconsider as it is why you have some books regarding the issue.
"Maybe I should give it a look, I don't want to get caught unaware..." You thought aloud as you eyed some of those books on the table. Your decision was cut short as soon you heard the doors of the room opens, revealing Twilight Sparkle herself with an smile, although it seemed a bit strained."
"Hey Anon!" She greeted you. "Had enough? Gosh, I wish I could've give you an proper room here, it's been a while that I had some reading buddy... aside of Rainbow, that's it." She says a bit dissappointed but her expression switched back to what she came with "Nevertheless. I did talked to one of the apprentices' parents, one agreed to host you in their home." She revealed but grimaced a bit "It come with a bit of a price, though, there was some negotiation about it but it's fine, all is good on your end." You cringed hearing that, the feeling of guilt simply now, you got up of your seat and walked toward the Alicorn Princess.
"Are you sure, Princess?" You asked, it seemed that she had talked onto something with the owners in order to give you room and habitation. "I could've talked with the Mayor of the town and.."
"Anon, it's fine! There is nothing to worry about, it wasn't needed much convincing, just some push there and there. What I talked isn't important even." she quickly ought to dismiss your worries, she continue with a shrug "Besides, I do outrank the mayor, I could've give you any of the free houses the town has to offer but you won't be able to pay the taxes of it." You wanted to argue but it was true, you couldn't pay it as you don't have the currency, you could fake it with some transmutation from rocks to golds or invocation but you didn't know what kind of damage it would cause to the economy long-term "And you couldn't fake it if you know alchemy, that illegal." She coincidentally revealed, well that was another hole on that plan.
"If you say so..." You reluctance conceded and sighed "It does make me a bit guilty to make you do this."

You avoided any other place in order to start with the magic lesson first asyou kind of had a plan for when to get involved with the whole town, it kind of gone to the drain now, more so now of that little tibit about the baiting mares being more insidious that you initially though and was on formulating an much better idea, instead, now it's gonna be feeling awkward on sharing an roof with... well technically not total strangers but still.

You asked to the Princess of Friendship, she was quickly to realized that she never mentioned their names, she looked a bit sheepish about it completely with an awkward chuckle
