You figured that while you're here, you might as well head over to that huge castle just outside of town and say hello to the local princess of the land. It wasn't that difficult to find, either. To the town's northwest, an enormous castle stood glittering in the afternoon sun, so big that it could be seen from practically any corner of Ponyville, and atop its highest tower was a glittering jewel in the shape of Twilight's cutie mark.
The path toward the castle was pretty easy to find as well. Someone had laid a brick path extending from the town's central fountain that looped in a spiral pattern around the square and then wound through the streets before directly pointing toward Twilight's castle. Neat and convenient.
It goes without saying that you had never seen anything like this in the show, which was your first clue that things were going to be different in this universe. Besides, you know, all of the tall and ridiculously beautiful curvaceous anthro mares.
It would be nice to talk to someone or somepony with the same interest in magic as you, and despite being nervous about meeting a creature that had previously only been found in fiction, you were still intensely curious as to what she might look like. Given that she's a recently ascended alicorn, it stands to reason that she had received some /upgrades/ to her figure in the process.
If that were the case, you wouldn't mind gazing at her beauty and burn the image into your mind, as well. First things first, however, you needed to learn more about this setting by asking permission to place down your roots and live in the town, and if there's anything you can do to help the community. That alone should be more than enough to get you into her good graces, and if not, you're sure that you can charm her by being courteous and playing to her intellect and curiosity.
You only hope that you're going to be able to stop yourself from staring.
After a short trek through town, you were now standing directly in front of Twilight's castle.
