Rescued at last?
Microscopic Survival

Brenda got up from her desk, and you could tell she was doing her best to be careful, despite how intense everything was at this scale. She stepped over to a different part of her office, one less cluttered by paperwork, but instead half-deconstructed old devices, mechanical parts of varying sizes, and most importantly, what looked like a microscope. Your heartbeat grew faster as you realized there was a chance you might be saved, that fate had sent the perfect person to rescue you from certain doom. Obviously, you would have preferred if fate had never shrunk you into nothing in the first place, but you weren't going to refuse its pity on you.
"Come on, where are they..." Brenda muttered to herself, as she moved another half-deconstructed gadget from the microscope while searching for something with her other hand. You weren't sure what she meant, until she pulled out a set of seemingly unused glass slides. Brenda pulled one out, blew off some dust that had accumulated on it, and wiped it clean against her tank top. Then, as carefully as possible, she moved it right underneath her right eye, and you in turn, before using the index finger of her other hand to "gently" nudge you off her eye and onto the slide. Said nudge was more akin to a meteorite crashing into the eyelash-tower you were standing on with enough force to send you flying off the edge, but right now, you were too ecstatic to care.
You didn't bother to stand up on the slide, and instead focused on holding on as Brenda lowered it to the microscope. Once again, what she perceived as "careful and slow" was still a wild and rapid ride. Though, once it was set down and Brenda let go, you finally got on your feet and stared into the giant lens above you, while Brenda adjusted different things across the microscope. It looked like she knew what she was doing, and judging by the stuff on the bench, you figured she must have been using it to get a close look at mechanical parts for repairs. You had no idea she had this side hobby, but you certainly appreciated it right now.
Finally, Brenda seemed to be finished setting things up, as she sat down, got into position, and turned the microscope on. Immediately, your surroundings were engulfed in a flash of bright, white light, as if you had been hit dead on by a flash bang. Once your eyes eventually recovered, you looked back up to the lens, while Brenda seemed to do some final fine-tuning. When she finally stopped, you had to assume she had a good image of the slide's content, meaning you. Just like before, you jumped and waved up at the lens to leave no doubt as to what Brenda was looking at.
"What the..." Brenda mumbled once more, and you couldn't blame her, as this was probably delivering more questions than answers.
"That's... Alex. Alex, under my microscope. That's not possible, but... I'm staring right at them," Brenda continued saying out loud, to which you replied with an eager nod. You could tell your reaction caught Brenda off-guard, as a slight twitch jolted through her body.
"They just nodded, they nodded at me... That's you, Alex, right? The Alex I know, my tenant?" Brenda asked you directly now, and you continued to reply with nods. All the while, a smile crept across your face from the joy of being found and acknowledged.
"Okay, that's... not what I expected. I mean, I saw something weird at my eye, but I thought it might be some kind of mite, not a microscopic person! Wow... I have so many questions I want to ask, but I don't think we'll get very far with just yes or no from you. More importantly, I'm just glad I actually found you! You're alright, aside from being small I mean, yes? And do you have an idea for what to do next?"
You nodded to inform Brenda that you were alright, miraculously, then shook your head that you had no plans from here. Frankly, you didn't think you would make it this far, especially this fast. And with no knowledge of how you got so small in the first place, you had no idea where to even begin with undoing it, if that was even within your control at all.
"I see. Well, it's good you're at least unharmed. I suppose it's up to me where we go from here..."
