The torn gritted its/Mihoshi’s teeth, leaning against a wall for support, it tried to fight off it’s hosts mind. It was designed to take full control of any entity, no matter its power or size, but something was off with this host. Some genetic anomaly, probably gained through an ancestor, was keeping it from maintaining it’s control over Mihoshi’s mind. Her mind fought back again, but the Torn forced it back down. Breathing hard with it’s stolen lungs, it knew it couldn’t keep this up for long. If he kept battling his hosts mind, the brain would face permanent damage and potentially shut down, trapping it inside the host. The Torn was designed not to have any emotions, but the thought of being trapped inside a paralyzed, drooling husk, drifting through space until it’s host died of starvation with it inside her, left the unemotional being afraid.
Slowly, it receded from Mihoshi’s conscious. Moving deeper into her mind to somewhere that it could wait and act in private. Taking full control was impossible now, but that didn’t mean it was powerless. From Mihoshi’s subconscious, it could tamper with her mind, affecting her personality and actions subtlety. She wouldn’t be its to control, but that didn’t mean it couldn’t lead her towards its goals. Only time would tell how far he could push its host. It began to slink into the far reaches of Mihoshi’s mind, just as the blond detective started to regain control of her body.
“What? Huh? Where? How?” Mihoshi murmured as she awoke from what she thought must be a daydream. She often lost her head during these long routine fights and went into other world for sometimes hours. Usually Kiyone would snap her out of it with a well placed slap to the head, but her partner hadn’t hit her this time. Strange indeed. Mihoshi stumbled towards the helm of the ship, wondering if she’d find her partner there. When she entered the main control for the ship, she was surprised to see that they were slowly coming down to earth.
“Did I do this?” Mihoshi asked herself. Kiyone usually handled the landing, keeping Mihoshi away from all the controls. Mihoshi had accident crashed a few times, okay, a few dozen times, and was now kept away from the controls at all cost. The only way she was going to find out what was going on was to check the flight log and hope it shed some light about what had been going on while she had been daydreaming. She took a step towards the consul, but stopped when her head made contact with the low wall above the helm.
“Ouchy,” She grumbled, rubbing the top of her head. She didn’t remembered the ceiling of the helm being this low. Now that she thought about it, everything did look a little strange. The usually spacious helm looked cozy, the screens and buttons were also smaller and what was with this draft she was feeling? Now completely confused, she turned to the log screen to see what she could learn.
A gasp escaped Mihoshi, not from reading the log, which stated her partner was dead, but from catching her reflection in the screen. She was only in her lingerie, which was stretched well past its limits over her body. The frilly undergarments hugged her curvy body, in an erotic display that brought a blush to Mihoshi face. She was a very conservative girl, unlike a space pirate she lived with, and didn’t believe in flaunting her body around. To find herself at the end of her shift, in only her underwear, was mortifying for the now big girl. Covering her barely clothed body with her hands, she desperately looked around for her clothes. After much shuffling around, she found a torn remains of her uniform lying near the command chair. Staring dumbly at the torn clothes, Mihoshi finally understood what was going on.
“Someone shrunk the ship!” She cried out, not figuring out that it was the other way around. Immediately, she started looking for Kiyone, knowing her smarter partner would know what to do. However, Mihoshi couldn’t find her anywhere on board causing her to come to the only reasonable conclusion.
“Kiyone must have been shrunken too!” Mihoshi rushed back to the helm of the ship, sitting down in the commander’s chair and lifting up her bare feet to check for the splattered remains of her partner. Mihoshi sighed at seeing no evidence that she’d stepped on anything. Leaning back into the chair, Mihoshi let it sink in that she was alone and had to make all the decisions by herself. She was confused and scared, alone on a believed to be shrunk ship, breaking earth’s atmosphere.
She didn’t know what to do, so something helped her decide. The Torn entered her subconscious, giving Mihoshi a couple ideas of what she could do. If it was possible, the energy based creature would of chuckled as it moved it’s puppet closer to its goal.
