"Yeah, it's crazy" You said, scratching your head "It looks like something out of a TV series, or some comic... a huge metallic monster and some lady dressed up as Mt. Lady and being actually giant fighting it"
'Oh sweet child, if only you knew...' Zuleima thought with internal amusement.
"By the way, where's your mom? Shouldn't she be here with you?" She then asked.
"I dunno... She wasn't here anymore when I woke up" You replied, but just then you saw a notification on your phone, a text that you missed before. You tapped it and found that your mom had left you a message, roughly an hour ago. She simply asked you to stay home and to wait for her to come back.
'I see...' Zuleima thought, as she was able to slyly look at it as well.
"So, uh... what brought you here, if you don't mind me asking?" You said.
"Well, you see, I need your help with something important" She said in a surprisingly serious, yet calm tone.
"I mean, my mom just told me to stay home until she got back..." You raised an eyebrow. Zuleima couldn't help but chuckle. If she were tall enough she would've patted your head.
"Aww, I guess Miri really raised you well. I wish my daughters were half as obedient" She laughed "Now, jokes aside, this is something really important, Blaise... Don't you worry, I'll explain everything to your mom when we get back..."
Normally, this would be the moment where you'd politely decline, both of your parents, who grew up in Mexico, were rather wary of anything that reeked of a possible kidnapping even if only by the very slightest, and since you were a very young child they'd taught you to fall for most of such tricks. But Zuleima wasn't just a random stranger, she was a lifelong friend of your parents', both of them even. She may not have been as prominent in your life as Sheila and Dolores were, but she still played a significant role in it, and if you extended the title of 'aunt' to Sheila, maybe Zuleima deserved it as well.

"Besides, if you need to keep your guard up around someone, it's the other two" She giggled "I'll try to explain along the way"

Ever since she was a child, and as cool as the battles looked, she always kinda criticized how destructive they ended up being, but then again, that was to make things flashier since it was a show, whereas this was real life. Lowkey she hoped that the monster shorted out, but that'd be too much to ask, specially since it came out of the ocean in the first place.
'How do I beat this thing?' Miriam then thought, realizing that she lacked weapons or offensive powers, all she had was hand to hand fighting. The monster wouldn't allow her the luxury of having enough time to think up a proper plan though, and it lunged at her once more, biting her arm, and while its fangs failed to pierce her skin, they did puncture the costume's sleeve.
Seeing this, Miriam got angry and smacked it hard with her other hand to get it off her arm. She punched its body twice and then delivered a powerful hip-check that actually created a booming shockwave and put a dent in it before it sent it flying farther into the sea, though it was quick to resurface and then it fired a lightning-like beam from its mouth, which Miriam blocked by reflex with her arms, forming a cross guard. Energy gathered in them, flickering between blue and red, but upon being hit by the lightning, it changed to a shield-like shape and repelled its charge.
'Huh? So even that aura has its uses' She thought, mildly surprised. Wondering about it, she maintained the energy in her hands and this time she rushed at the monster, aggressively punching it, and each time she hit it, sparks flew out while the monster's body reddened. Whatever it was, it was definitely more powerful than fighting with her bare hands, and when it tried to bite her again she caught it by the neck in a lock.

"There's something important that I need to confirm for myself, and you're the only person that can help me to pull it off... it has to do with something from my job, but I'll finish explaining when we arrive" She said and you nodded, letting her focus back on the road. Since that part of the city had started to get evacuated a while ago, it was fairly empty by now so it didn't take nearly as long as she thought.
You kept wondering what would be the connection between Zuleima and these weird events, and the first thing that came to mind was Zuemy's and Zoey's conversations about them wanting to develop a way to grow or shrink things. Would Zuleima have anything to do with that? In that case, was she or her daughters the person who gave the Mt. Lady cosplayer her powers? No way to know for now, but you took mental note of these questions. The alternative was that Zuleima somehow had a hand in the robotic monster's construction and that was definitely more of a stretch... but then again, all you knew about her job was that she was a scientist and that she worked on really advanced tech... so, who knows?

She found that her hips and butt were her most effective weapon and the only one that could put dents on the mechanical beast's body. She changed her fighting style to something more akin to dancing, based on what Sheila taught her. Miriam could hardly keep herself from giggling, she wondered what Sheila would say upon discovering that she turned her dancing skills into a legit martial art.
And given all the 'mass' she carried, her movements caused more quaking in the city than expected but at least roughly half of the people deemed it a worthy price for the titanic spectacle they witnessed. Her trending topic viralizing further with countless videos filmed from various angles plus the ones taken from news' footage.
During the fight, Miriam found that she couldn't concentrate enough to shrink the monster, as that had been one of her early plans, so instead she had to change them to either beating it until it shut down or damage it enough that it won't fight back so she can shrink it. But despite the various dents her meaty wrecking balls inflicted, the mechanical beast kept fighting, even revealing that it was capable of more ranged attacks other than its lightning beam, opening its chest up to fire a volley of car-sized blades that slashed some of Miriam's suit but she took little damage, not even a single bleeding wound.
The fact that they were fighting on the beach's sandy ground and in the water also made things a bit more difficult for Miriam, she was really tempted to take it to the city and have a smackdown like the countless ones she watched in Godzilla movies and Ultraman among other things, but she remembered that she couldn't risk people's lives that way.
'I mean... it'd be pretty hypocritical of me to just protect my baby and not care that other people obviously have moms and dads that would be devastated...' She thought as she deflected an electric blast that the monster fired at her. She was becoming quite adept at infusing her hands with the aura's power to protect herself. She then dashed towards the robotic monster and hit its abdomen with her huge butt, sending it crashing down on the ground. Trying to seize the chance, she pinned it with a foot, but the monster wrapped its neck around her leg and swept it off the ground, making her fall with borderline meteoric force, causing a much larger tremor than any she caused before.
'Goddammit Miri! At this rate that fat ass of yours is gonna destroy the city!' Zuleima thought as you and her also experienced the massive quake while she was still driving. Thankfully, no accident happened, but it felt like a close call. She parked near some buildings that weren't too far from the beach, but weren't exactly too close either, they'd have to walk a few minutes to get there. She wasn't gonna park in the beach for Miriam or the monster to flatten her car under their feet.
After a couple of minutes of walking, she noticed that you'd been following along without saying a single peep, which made her smile. Once you entered the building and got on the elevator, she began debating herself whether to spill the beans or to let Miriam tell you about it.
