Zuleima tried to obtain any data on these unknown pulses but all she could gather was that they were a form of energy that seemed to be similar to electricity, yet it was distinct enough that it couldn't be analyzed as a series of electric charges. But just when she was about to give up on trying to understand their meaning, she finally detected more changes. The nanomachines reported that Miriam's body grew until reaching 10 ft in height.
'What?!' She almost choked on her coffee as she saw Miriam's real-time 3D model grow before her very own eyes. The nanomachines also indicated that all of her body not only became larger, but also denser and more resilient, in particular they showed that her muscles and bones became significantly denser than they were at her normal size.
"Oh no..." She realized that she was likely at home when this growth happened, and quickly finished her last donut with the intention to rush towards her home, when the nanomachines submitted yet another report. Her body was shrinking! In the most astonishment she'd experienced in years, Zuleima saw Miriam's 3D model shrink back until it reverted to its base size, though she retained the enlarged curves from the experiment.
'What the...?! Can she grow and shrink at will?!' She thought 'Holy hell she called it! Could this have given her some kind of special powers?' She almost couldn't believe it, being a scientist herself, but she had already seen it happen, and she didn't believe her machines were just starting to fail now.
Opting for what she deemed was the cautious approach, she excused herself out of work and began driving towards Miriam's house so they could talk about whatever happened. Unfortunately for her, traffic was harsher than when Miriam drove back home, much to her frustration. At least she didn't have to keep dealing with her annoying coworkers for a while, so she still preferred being stuck in traffic if that's what it took.
She turned her tablet on and set her on a grip that'd let her look at it while still driving, she wanted to know if Miriam would try changing her size again, but that didn't happen. By the lack of interference she got, she assumed she had stopped using her abilities for the time being. It was then that there was a large booming noise, and a faint shockwave rushed past her and her car, just enough to make it lightly vibrate.
'Huh? Did something explode?' She wondered and grabbed her phone, which she almost dropped after logging onto the Chirper app.
"The hell is that thing?!" She mumbled, seeing a serpentine robotic monster that was easily around 500 to 600 ft tall. She saw in various video feeds, many of which had a tragic end, as the people filming were way too close, that the monster was attacking the city's largest port.
"Oh my god, Miriam was kind of right, this is just about to become Mazinger Freaking Z" Zuleima huffed and decided to look for an alternative way to get out of the traffic jam. Knowing her friend, and if her assumptions about her abilities were correct, she could tell where this was going...
Fortunately, the traffic jam began clearing up then, so she was able to continue without having to do anything too convoluted. She considered calling Miriam but she was a little worried, if her abilities were connected to her emotions, maybe a phone call that could scare her may not be the best idea. But she was also worried about that mysterious robotic thing that was attacking, even wondering who the hell would do such a thing. In a way, the machine looked ancient, although it moved as if it were brand new.
Soon, she had to focus on the road so she couldn't get any more live updates on the situation. She was close to getting out of the large avenue even, and would reach the neighborhood both she and Miriam lived in, but, once again and to her frustration, traffic stopped, there was another jam.
"God...dammit!" She angrily hit the steering wheel with her hands, accidentally getting the horn to blare, but she didn't mind, she hated whatever idiot caused traffic to stop when she was so close to getting out. She took a deep breath and checked her phone again, at the same time, her tablet began making warning notification beeps and the ground slightly shook rhythmically.
"Miriam grew again!" Zuleima gasped. Those quakes made sense, the sensors indicated that she reached 700ft in height.
"Oh god, Miriam... please don't tell me you're going full Ultraman..." She facepalmed. On the one hand, she had to wonder what would be the odds that on the day her friend got these powers a near equally giant machine would decide to come out and wreak havoc.
"Unless... someone knew of this beforehand and sabotaged the experiment to achieve this specific outcome... but how? There's no way any of us could've figured a way to give people supernatural powers!" She muttered "Besides, what's there to gain from this?"
One idea clicked. This could be an elaborate setup to get her in trouble, possibly even arrested and letting all of her work fall into the company's hands. She shook her head, thinking it was too paranoid, but she didn't entirely discard the possibility. She then checked the news, she felt some kind of morbid curiosity to see Miriam making a fool of herself, albeit with good intentions.
Chirper almost exploded with news, trending topics and many videos showing a truly gigantic woman who stood larger than any of the city's skyscrapers. People initially feared her, but they found out she was coming for the robotic monster and engaged it in a fight. Zuleima gasped, her jaw dropped, and at the same time she felt like she was gonna explode with laughter.
"Of all possible costumes you chose THAT one?!" She muttered "Sometimes I don't understand your sense of humor, Miri"

Zuleima then sighed and rubbed her eyes "Somehow, I feel like you may not even listen to me anymore if I try to get you out of this mess... that means there's only one person who might help..."
Meanwhile, in Miriam's house
"What the hell?!" You said in disbelief. This was too surreal. There was a real life Zord-like monster attacking the city, and a giant woman dressed up as Mt. Lady was battling it. You pinched yourself a few times, but you couldn't wake up from this feverish dream.
Chirper was going crazy with people discussing the appearance of these two literally enormous oddities, and as expected, soon some people began making wild claims of conspiracies and whatnot. You ignored those posts and instead wanted to learn more about what was going on, turning on the TV in the living room, though the now consistent quakes concerned you a little. Now that there was a higher quality video feed, you couldn't help but snicker, that this giant woman decided to cosplay as Mt. Lady... but then again, maybe it was a deliberate decision, who are you to judge after all?
Most of her body was covered by her pale tan jumpsuit, but you could see a bit of her face, what was not covered by her purple domino mask, which was kind of stylish, appeared to be light brown skin, slightly darker than your own if you had to compare, with a more bronze-like tone to it. The other thing you couldn't help but notice was that this lady was definitely rather on the chunky side, she had a slightly pudgy belly, but her chest was pretty huge, and her ass was almost ridiculously big.
"Huh, the skin tone doesn't match... or the chest, but this is almost like the time Lillian talked about growing to the size of Godzilla" You laughed "The woman kinda looks like Sheila..." And at that moment you stopped laughing. Your eyes widened and paid more attention to the gigantic cosplayer-turned-vigilant.
After her initial punch, she had begun luring the beast away from the city, heading towards the beach, which should be empty if people valued their lives. And once there, the battle resumed, with the metallic monster lunging at her like a snake, trying to bite her to no avail. The giant lady was surprisingly agile despite her looks and dodged those attacks without too much visible effort, connecting a few more jabs at its face, as well as a very powerful kick that threw it into the sea.

"But Sheila wouldn't have bothered to hide her identity, I think... I feel that if she somehow grew to that size the first thing she'd do would be brag about literally having the biggest butt in the whole world..." You thought out loud. You wondered who the mysterious woman was. Her massive curves got you to suspect it could be Dolores, but you looked at her stomach again, it was nowhere near as big. Something felt oddly familiar about her though.
