History's Haughty Hiccups [Part IV] Giantess/Shrinking & Farts chapter 6 by RandomAnon

[Flashback continues]

Moments later, in a secluded table at the cafeteria...

Isabel and Marcia sat by themselves. Naturally, as the new arrivals they weren't in any given group or clique though by the look of it, it didn't seem like Isabel was very interested anyway, she seemed content enough with Marcia's company. To their slight embarrassment, Dolores gave them some extra food citing their "being way too skinny", to which Isabel weakly tried to protest to no avail, wanting to keep a certain portion of herself from growing any larger, one against which she had been contending for a couple of years now.

"Are you going to eat all that, Lady Isabel?" Marcia asked.

"Well, yeah" Isabel sighed at first but over time she looked more chipper "It's beneath even plebeian behaviour to waste food and to be honest, this smells amazing! I've never encountered seasoning like this!" She said as she grabbed a taco and bit into it before eating it in a few more bites, her eyes widening at the savoury and spicy flavours that she had never quite experienced, less so in combination.

"It's delightful indeed, though I worry about the caloric content" Marcia said, barely hiding her enjoyment of the food. Truthfully, she didn't seem to be capable on putting much weight so her words were more of a show of sympathy to Isabel's apparent plight: her growing bottom.

"I'll burn it with fencing practice" Isabel shrugged "I might need to sharpen my skills some more to overcome the unfair advantages that barbaric blood awards to the undeserving" She said as she sipped some cold tea. Time passed slowly while the two girls enjoyed their food but Marcia felt compelled to break this newly formed silence:

"My Lady, may I ask what's your intention with this man you seem to have fixated on? Is this another one of those games?" She asked with that slight bluntness that only a lifelong friend could afford when talking to someone of such status. Accordingly, Isabel proceeded to nearly perish right there and then from choking on her food as it took her several seconds to regain her composure.

"W-What do you mean 'another one of those games' ?! What games?!" She frowned and blushed intensely, clearly flustered by the question.

"Whatever it is that you've done with your fellow aristocrats back in Europe" Marcia said as she sipped some tea herself, unfazed by what had happened just now "I was under the assumption that this was your way of dealing with boredom?"

"Huh" Isabel raised an eyebrow "No, not really. I just couldn't stomach those insipid nobles that care about nothing but lazing around spending 'limitless' money doing nothing all day... Though I got plenty of entertainment out of them" She chuckled.

"I see, it makes sense. After all, what entertainment could a lowborn provide? Your apparent interest in him puzzles me still" Marcia said.

"I just told you it's not like that" Isabel huffed "I know potential when I see it! I can make him a far better suitor than any guy you pick up from Europe. I mean we already did it once 500 years ago and by God I can do it again!"

"Oh?" Marcia tilted her head and her mouth betrayed her, failing to hide the tiniest smirk. It had been a while since her master had such a change in her routine "But if my Lady wants to strengthen her claim to the throne, wouldn't it be more sensible to forge ties with other monarchies?" She asked with genuine curiosity because this contrasted with what she knew to be Isabel's usual way of thinking.

"Tch. That's how we ended up losing the crown, Marcia. Handing the crown of Spain to the other royal houses in marriage is to throw it away. We should have never married outside! The old kings and queens would've done better to tie the knot with the local dynasties and keep their hold on the colonies much more strongly. The first Isabel did say that it was best to marry the natives" Isabel said.

"I thought that was directed at the commoners" Marcia replied as she gave a thoughtful look, mulling over what Isabel had just said.

"Yeah, and see where not heeding her advice lead us: we ended up putting Austrians and French on our throne" She sighed.

"Fair point. But why this one? Wouldn't any random Mexican suffice? Or the son of some politician? As far as we know this one is a mere commoner" Marcia wondered aloud.

"I've got a hunch that the politicians' kids wouldn't be that much better than the nobles in Europe. Besides, I think that it'd be a much better PR move to show that I, the future queen, is not looking at political power gains or monetary ones... and I'd vindicate the New Spain's old scars and grudges by making a new Aztec King and having him on the throne at my side"

"My Lady, I don't believe Mexico to be too keen on returning to the old colonial ways and the name 'New Spain' seems to be much repudiated by the population" Marcia solemnly sipped some more tea.

"I know, I know, the black legend still haunts us" Isabel rolled her eyes "But that's precisely why I need to combat it"

"Hmm? And I suppose there are no further, personal ulterior motives behind this very specific choice, right, my Lady?" Marcia smirked.

"W-w-why would there be, Marcia?! Have you lost your mind?" Isabel's flustered stutter was a dead giveaway that she was in fact, spot on "I mean, where are you going to find another one with verifiable roots tracing back to the ancient kingdoms?"

"We haven't even verified if what the teacher said is true" Maria said while grabbing some more food to eat.

"Eh, we can run DNA tests later, it won't be hard to get like one of his hairs or whatever" Isabel shrugged dismissively "At least by appearance, it kinda checks out though. Black hair, tanned skin, black eyes which mind you, are not as common as people think"

"Black eyes... uncommon?" Marcia grabbed her own glasses with one hand and lowered them slightly, giving her a look that wordlessly conveyed the words 'Really?'

"Yeah. It's usually dark brown and you can see it with sunlight. But actual black eyes aren't something you run into every day. The only thing that stands out is that he's rather tall for a native but that very well might be from having a better diet here" Isabel said, absentmindedly munching on more of her food.

"I'm surprised you noticed such a minute detail" Marcia remarked.

"Puh-lease! My gaze is exquisite and my eye is trained to tell things apart by the finest details. Besides, he did glare at me quite a bit, which gave me a chance to look into his eyes" Isabel chuckled somewhat embarrassedly.

"Yeah, I don't think he's on board with your royal plans" Marcia shrugged.

"He will be... in due time. I just need to bedazzle him with my sheer superiority and he'll be crawling at my feet begging for a chance, ohohoho~" Isabel laughed as she fanned herself for some added flair to her statement.

"I don't know, he doesn't even seem to be short on feminine company, as we saw" Marcia then said and Isabel almost fell like a statue that had just been hit in the wrong spot, cracked all over and pulverized instantly.

"Those overfed hippos aren't even competition" Isabel shrugged and shook her head "But you're right that the attention that they give him is probably clouding his judgement. He probably believes that no proper woman looks at him which is why he's content with getting crumbs from those bloated freaks"

"They also hardly leave him alone, most of the time they even surround him" Marcia pointed out, quietly enjoying the bubbling rage within Isabel. She knew how passionately she hated it when others laid claim to what she had deemed her own. As predicted, Isabel's grip crumpled the plastic cup she had been drinking from.

"I will deal with them one by one, starting with the Holstein" Isabel growled quietly "She will pay for humiliating me" She muttered, gripping tightly her wooden rapier's handle.

"Are you sure though? He wasn't quite on board with you attacking the other chubby one" Marcia then mentioned.

"Yeah, I will have to think of a way to break him free from their grasp. He needs to see that he doesn't have to settle for the lowest of the low when he can do so much better" Isabel huffed.

Earlier, at another table in the cafeteria...

You had just gotten your lunch alongside Cindy and had just sat down at the table with Jen, Lillian and Zuemy, hoping to enjoy a much needed break after dealing with this new wave of unexpected nonsense today.

"You took a bit to get here, is everything alright?" Zuemy said, being ever observant though this time she lacked that smug playfulness that usually came with her mischievous schemes. Even she knew that today wasn't being your day. You and Cindy exchanged looks by reflex and that was enough to give it away. Jen set down the half taco she had been eating and swallowed quickly.

"That bitch again?!" She asked, barely holding her own anger back, not directed at either of you of course.

"Don't worry, we handled it" You said and patted Cindy's head. Somehow, it felt better to give the implication that she helped rather than claiming that it had been yourself alone. Cindy, quick to catch on, smiled and gave Jen a thumbs up, to which she sighed in relief and went back to eating.

"Man, History class is sure going to be something this year" Lillian then said with a slight smirk as if she were already drafting up plans of her own to mess with the new girl.

"And any other classes we end up sharing with her" Cindy added, eliciting a bothered growl from Jen "Sorry!"

"Well, ladies... I suggest we treat this the same as a Toxic Lily situation: don't leave him alone" Zuemy spoke next.

"Wait, what is that supposed to mean?! I'm not such a useless sap that I can't defend myself if needed" You said, feeling a mix of embarrassment and somewhat insulted "She's not even nearly as strong as Lily"

"Neither is Maggie but I've seen her pinning you against the lockers" Zuemy shot back and this time it was Lillian who gave a glare, immediately matching Jen's anger level.

"Nobody called you useless but we know you won't hit a girl" Lillian said "Which is understandable, not really worth the trouble"

"But we can" Jen chuckled, her mood finally easing up a little "I've got a feeling that she's going to come after you given the way she introduced herself and Ms. Coleman's poor choice of words. Someone's got to knock the nonsense out of her"

You gulped hard and blushed. Jen wanting to defend you that much made you feel all fuzzy on the inside, like countless electric tickles all around you but on the inside. You felt wrong for feeling this way, like you shouldn't feel flustered at this yet you did. 'What is wrong with me?' You asked yourself...
