Two roads diverged...

The cooking club and the manga club both sounded great- nice and relaxing (well, maybe not the cooking club) but something just didn't feel right. You couldn't quite put your finger on it...

Well, no sense worrying about it. If you couldn't make up your mind...

"Do you have any suggestions?"

Asking the lovely, busty beauty of a student council president couldn't steer you wrong. Mio was certain to have other options available for you to look over, right?

Mio blinked at your question, straightening up slightly, and you did your best to ignore how even that slight motion set her massive breasts jiggling. Seriously, what did she eat to grow them that big? They were huge! Comparing her boobs to volleyballs was not an exaggeration, but rather an accurate comparison!

While you were busy wrestling control of your mind from your own perverted thoughts, Mio had brought out another two entrance forms.

"Oh, if you don't want to join either the cooking or manga clubs, then take a look at these. I'm afraid these are the only two other clubs that are willing to accept you. Your arrival at Pandora was announced a while back, but most clubs lost interest in having you join them after they heard it was a boy who was transferring in."

Yeah, that... honestly sounded par for the course to you. Most of the time, transfer students in romcom animes were hot girls, so it made sense that most of the clubs here- probably all the male dominated ones- would completely lose interest at the thought of letting some random (apparently powerless) guy join. In that case... it was kind of a bummer that there were only two remaining clubs that would take you, but beggars couldn't be choosers. Something hadn't seemed right with the manga and cooking clubs, so you'd have to pick one of these two and hope it worked out for you.

"Uh, don't worry about it, Prez. What clubs are they?" If Mio had any objections to you calling her 'Prez,' you couldn't tell.

"Well, the Paranormal Mysteries club president let me know just last Friday that they're looking for more members... again. Don't let that put you off of them, though. They're very nice, if a bit... eccentric."

Paranormal Mysteries? There hadn't been an actual occult club or anything like that in the game, but it didn't take a genius to figure out that was where Ava would be in this version of the Harem Protagonist world. Clubs couldn't be only one person, but beyond Ava you had no idea who would be in it.

Still, it... honestly wasn't a bad choice. You remembered from the game that interacting with Ava often lead to Shujin getting in trouble, but she was a genuinely nice girl, and someone who deep down really needed a friend.

So the Paranormal Mysteries Club (or PMC, which you were henceforth abbreviating it as) was one option.

"That might work. What's the other club that's willing to take the powerless new guy?" You said, triggering a frown from the tall beauty.

"Ah, please don't refer to yourself like that. Just because you don't have an apparent esper ability, that doesn't mean you're worth any less than all the other students here. Don't let any of your classmates tell your otherwise, Kou-san."

Damn, you were starting to see why Mio had such a popular reputation at school. Beautiful, buxom, and wealthy, but also kind and caring.

"My bad, sorry. It's just, uh... taking a lot of getting used to finally being here." Which was absolutely not a lie, yesterday you'd been an average joe in a boring, bland world, while today you were trying to learn as much as you could about the world you'd been transported to.

Mio didn't say anything at those words, merely nodding in understanding, most likely having anticipated that response from you.

"Very well. In any case, the other club that is willing to take you in mid-term is the film club."

Film club, film club...

Nope, you were drawing a blank. It sounded like a safe, default choice... but you also couldn't think of any heroine that would fit in with that. You weren't sure about that one, as you didn't want to run the risk of being stuck in a club where you weren't with at least one character you knew.

"Ah, if neither of those clubs are appealing to you, there is a third option."

Perking up at that, you looked back over at Mio, who continued speaking.

"Recently, the student council's budget increased, so I have room on the student council to bring on one additional member from the student body. The authorities in charge of the highschool section of Pandora are allowing me to make a post for a General Affairs officer; or Secretary of General Affairs, if you want to hear the official title. I was going to make this a public announcement tomorrow, and let people fill out the entrance forms, but..." At this Mio blushed prettily, her cheeks turning a faint pink.

"It's a bit embarrassing to say, but I'm not actually looking forward to having to read so many applications, especially when this time of year is already quite busy for me. If you want, I could wave the application and just appoint you to the position. My vice-president, Meiko, was adamant that I only accept girls' applications, but that might be difficult seeing how so many boys have been asking to join the student council..."

Damn, that was a hell of an offer. Being on the student council seemed like a lot of work, but from what you knew from anime, it was pretty much a guaranteed 'main character' spot, and you needed to think about how differently logic would work in a world running on romcom logic.

Plus... joining the student council meant that you'd be spending a lot more time with the lovely Mio Jinguuji, which was a huge win in your book. You weren't sure who this 'Meiko' was, but neither her nor Mio herself had been in Harem Protagonist, so it wasn't like you had any frame of reference to draw on.

Ultimately...
