It took maybe three hours to sneak under the plants and waiting for amazons to clear your path to make it to the door. Just a little farther, you wait for traffic at the door to be a complete lull. It took about thirty minutes for an opening to present itself. So far escaping has not been too difficult. While you wait you see dozens, maybe hundreds of people your size being taken from the pool. Every single one of them was under the control of a taller person, a few seemed to be happy and cooperative with the situation, many were either simply obedient or too exhausted to oppose what was happening and a few fully resisted without and success.
You made your break for the opening. As fast as your legs were, here you felt woefully slow, everything being scaled for people at least twice as tall as you were. There was a stone path, and uncomfortably long straight stone path, lined with bamboo on either side. Nowhere to hide here, speed was your only way out, hopefully no giants were coming from the end.
Far ahead you see a gentle curve and a sign with arrows pointing in different directions, the one to the right was in the direction your intuition directed you. On it was written “Original Human Size Territory. Adhere to non predatory behavior codes upon entry.” Your legs find a new burst of speed as you are almost back to what seems to be safe territory. The sign flys past and ahead there is an archway bridging the gap between sections of another log fence.
WHAM!
Something solid hits you in the face and knocks you flat on your back. You see stars for a moment. Pain swirled in your head and chest from an unseen collision. You look around to see if someone or something was approaching and there was nothing in sight. Escape is still the priority, recompose yourself later. The stars are clearing quickly and you crawl yourself back up to your feet and your head hits something invisible again. It’s cold and solid. Past the invisible object regular human sized people are walking around to and from one of the primary resort buildings and to the hub of places to go. None of them notice you. You can’t hear them, whatever this was isolates sound too, maybe they can hear you. You beat against the invisible wall and risk a yell.
Outside the door on the other side the amazon who threw you over the fence discretely watches you pleading for attention. She knows you cannot escape without another giant’s help, and no giants let anything small escape. She grins watching your failing attempts to flee.
Inside you take a step back away from the invisible object and try to analyze just what’s in the way. It’s a door. A big glass door, blocking your exit. Ok it’s just a door, there has to be a way to open it. This isn’t a prison after all, or at least you hope. Your neck cannot arch upwards this close to the door and you take a few steps back, careful to watch out for giants. The bamboo lining the path might give you a place to hide if they don’t spot you first. The door clearly will not swing outward, the pain in your face and chest has confirmed that, it must swing inward. There must be a handle, and sure enough with enough room between you and the door it presents itself. It’s small and high, very high. If the door were properly scaled it would be head level, which is probably by design to keep people your size from escaping. Next to it on the wall was a black panel decorated with the emblem for the resort. It was a common sight around the resort, the room key card would unlock the doors that these panels were close to. Great, even if you could reach the handle and somehow get the leverage to open the door, it was locked.
Without a card you cannot open the door and are trapped. There are probably other ways to escape but that would mean heading back toward a higher concentration of giants. The woman being consumed by the jellyfish and it’s collection of other captive women provide you with plenty of reason to not head that way. Increasing panic creeps into your mind, angrily you wish you got caught wearing more than a bikini, at least you weren’t naked like literally every other normal sized human on this side of the fence. You force your composure back to your thoughts. You just graduated college, if you beat junior year and the trials that it gave you, you can solve a simple door and get back to safety. You can’t open the door, but you can wait for someone else to open it for you, simple. Just like when you were locked out of your dorm after curfew, all you will have to do is make sure to slip through while they are not looking. Which seems like a reasonable opportunity, since nobody is dragging you through the door, nobody will be looking for you.
