Before you knew it, the day previous had ended and new one begun. You didn't bother to measure yourself this morning as you didn't need the stress. All you wanted was the bathroom that your daughter had beaten you to.
You stood out in the hallway in your white bathrobe that was a lot looser on your body than normal, another reminder that your life as you knew it was over. Before you had filled it out so well, and now you had to roll up the sleeves.
You were pulled from your thoughts when you hear the bathroom door click. It opened swiftly and you saw the smiling face of Mandy greeting you good morning.
"Good morn--" was as far as you got before your breath hitched. You knew for a fact that yesterday you still needed to look down slightly to meet Mandy's gaze, a fact that kept things somewhat normal. That was no longer the case now.
You were looking her straight in the eyes. She wasn't standing on her quote tippy toes to seem taller either. Both of you were on a flat surface with your eyes evenly leveled. You'd shrank again. You were Mandy's height now. You'd lost three inches over night?
How!?
Were you loosing height at random? Would you go to sleep tonight and wake up a measly one centimeter!? That thought scared you and the sudden size difference didn't go unnoticed either.
"Oh my god!?" the teen gasped. "Y-you're my height now!"
The shock was too much. You needed the bathroom and some time to think. "Excuse me!" you said quickly as you squeezed past Mandy and into the bathroom. You locked the door behind you and sat down on the toilet shakily.
Three whole inches gone and now you were on an even level with your daughter. How much longer until she's bigger than you? How much longer until Barbara's bigger than you?
With each passing day you can feel your confidence dwindling and you your self worth slowly faltering as well. People who paid close attention could already tell something was amiss with you, and the whispers were already circling at work.
How much longer until your world was no longer yours?
