Good girl," Ashley said, giggling. "Now, I want you to play dead."
Susan groaned inwardly, but complied, closing her eyes and pretending to be lifeless. Ashley leaned in closer to examine her, poking at her with her finger.
"She's so cute, Mom!" Ashley exclaimed. "Can we dress her up in doll clothes?"
Elizabeth chuckled. "Sure, sweetie. But remember, Susan is not a toy. She's a living being, so we need to be careful with her."
Ashley nodded eagerly and ran off to fetch her doll clothes. Meanwhile, Susan lay there, feeling humiliated and helpless. She couldn't believe this was her life now, at the mercy of an eight-year-old girl.
When Ashley returned with a tiny pink dress and a matching bow, Susan braced herself for more embarrassment. But as Ashley began to dress her, Susan couldn't help but feel a small sense of relief. At least she wasn't being spanked or forced to perform more degrading tasks.
