It only made sense, like any predator, to prioritize stragglers. Allow prey to become separated from the herd and strike when they are defenceless and alone.

the analogy wasn’t a perfect fit, as unlike prey animals shrinks had no way of fighting back against what was effectively their natural predator: you.

They could however run off. If there was any large number of shrinks living in this forest surely they must have formed some sort of primitive tribe and allowing a straggler to get away would make your hunt much harder in the long run.

Upon closer inspection, the three men appeared to consist of two young adults around your age and an older man who you presumed was their father.

The younger ones would be more ideal. So long as the father doesn’t see them get snatched up or see any evidence you were there, his sons could have just gotten lost taking a piss for all he’d know.

you grabbed a rock right by your feet and threw it into the distance, waiting for a moment when they weren’t looking in that direction and aiming for a much larger rock to make the most noise.

the three spun to the source of the noise like deer and the older man gestured to the younger ones to stay back. He cautiously approached where you threw the rock until he was out of view.

Time to make your move. In a few swift and quiet movements your lunged out from the bush and snatched both young shrinks and fled back into the forest, out of sight for when the older shrink would return.

You had covered their mouths with your thumbs to prevent their screams from alerting him of what had happened.

The two in your hand were physically in shape and incredibly attractive and appeared to be identical twins. They looked absolutely delicious but you also know more than a few women who’d pay 3 or 4 times the usual amount for someone just like them. The advantage with identical twins is you can keep one to yourself and sell the other off. Maybe sell both of them and afford something nice for yourself, or just enjoy eating both of them if you’re greedy.

Now that you were far enough away the need to silence them wasn’t as urgent. You moved your thumbs to give them more room to breathe. Suffocating them wouldn’t be good.

“-D….Dont hurt us.” The one in your left hand held up his free hand in fear, making very clear eye contact with your mouth. The other in your right hand was looking away with his eyes shut, mentally preparing himself for whatever was next…

You had your prize, it was time to reap the rewards.
