Chapter 32
Celestia took in a deep breath and let it out slowly. Patience, girl. You have all the time in the world.
Any full-scale incursion by her would have to be handled with a subtle and delicate touch so as to avoid terrifying the denizens of the new world too much. From what she had learned by drawing from the human's mind, the other members of his species were highly intelligent, highly cooperative with a worldwide network of near-instantaneous communication, and if given the chance would devote all of their resources and willpower into pushing her back, or die trying.
No... there was no need to enter, just yet. She would be more than satisfied with a small sample of humans to play around with and test the waters. In fact, if she could just redirect one of those flying machines so that it would fly directly into the portal she could easily catch it.
Celestia knelt on her bed, her eyes aligned to the vista of the alien metropolis and waited patiently for another airplane to arrive, and lo and behold, soon after the first had passed by and landed another one appeared on the horizon adjusting its course and altitude to make its final descent.
It was not to be, however, as Celestia concentrated and began threading her magic through the portal and whipping out like an invisible tether to ensnare the plane, and with a slight yank she pulled the plane out of alignment and toward the waiting portal while also widening the edges to that it can pass safely through.
