What followed was a series of onscreen prompts that detailed yhe various functions of the HUD, and a short synopsis of the plot thus far. Celestia's affinity meter is represented by ten pink hearts that fill up as you grow closer to her, and with every heart you fill you unlock special scenes with her. Pretty standard visual novel fare.
Honestly, the most notable thing about the game was the high quality character models and voice acting; whoever made this went above and beyond to give you an excellent play experience.
You rapidly clicked through the prompts in s bid to get back to the story, and when a dialogue box appeared asking if you knew all the rules, you clicked yes.
Just a a you clicked, however, there was a brief flicker in the screen, so fast that one could blink and easily miss it.
For a split second a message appeared in bold red letters that read THE PACT HAS BEEN MADE, before the scene cut abruptly back to Celestia's smiling face. It happened so fast that you couldn't process what just happened, so you stared at the monitor in confusion.
Celestia's voice was bright and chipper as she addressed your avatar within the game world. "All finished, then? Goodness me you signed those papers rather quickly, didn't you? You barely even glanced them over. I do hope you understand just what you're getting into, Anon. Her brow slightly crinkled in worry, as if you rushing through the tutorial had any real consequences.
Somehow, it felt as though Celestia was talking to you directly, even though you know that couldn't be true.
In any case, your in game self responded with a confident laugh, "Oh, it's fine. It can't be that hard, right? All I have to do is follow you around, maybe work with a schedule here and there, occasionally write stuff down and thing a like that."
Celestia pursed her lips. "Well, it is a bit more complicated than that, though I appreciate your enthusiasm. With my other assistant away it's going to rather busy in the castle, and I want to be sure you can handle it. Perhaps a trial run is in order, to test your abilities and see where you need improvement... "
