"Let's just say that it's a job that involves physical activity...."
The voice pauses, and for a couple of seconds over the receiver, you can hear another voice speaking faintly in the background in unintelligible murmurs before the voice came back with a deep-throated chuckle. "Yes, a LOT of physical activity, some which may be strenuous on the mind and body. We screened your name from a large pool of applicants and after much deliberation, we found that your skills were particularly well suited for this line of work. We've also determined that by your Sparkle Amicability Score, or SAS, that you display a well-developed penchant for working in close proximity to others, which is a skill that we find value in our applicants. Therefore, in a way you have risen to become the cream of the crop, so to speak. If you're willing and able, we would like for you to come in for work right away."
You half-listened to the words coming from the speaker with your mouth set in a firm line. You didn't know what kind of score she was talking about, or why they would want to obfuscate what type of job you'd be taking as if it were some kind of state secret. You'd done physical labor before as an assistant on construction sites and you've also worked as a general handyman, so working out your muscles wasn't strange to you. The way they kept wording it made it seem like there was more to this than meets the eye, so of course, you're a little suspicious. "I didn't apply for anything, though, How am I supposed to be sure that this isn't some sort of scam to waste my time or weasel me out of even more money? You aren't even going to tell me what the job is until I accept the offer. Can I be assured that I will be properly compensated if I do accept? You're being vague and wishy-washy and I don't like it. "
There was a soft click before woman on the other end sighed deeply. "Yet another one full of suspicion and mistrust. How very sad, If only you knew of how many heartbreaking responses we get just like this from other men we try to help, it's unreal and saddening. Very well, I'll tell you what type of job you will be doing and then you can decide if it's the right fit for you."
