The doctor smiled, then scratched behind his antlers and gave you an apologetic look. "Luckily for you, one of our volunteer nurses has offered to host you within their home while you recuperate. Since you are no longer in critical condition, can use this bed to treat patients of far more dire need than yours. Uh, no offense, but we are kind of in the middle of a crisis and can use all the help we can get, so I'll need to get you out of here quickly in order to take more patients. I hoper you understand."
You nodded in understanding, then asked, "I get it. Honestly, I think I can take care of the problem myself and not burden the system you've got set up here."
Deephorn's smile returned, and he gave you a gentle reassuring pat on the shoulder. "Splendid. Just splendid. That really takes a weight off my mind. I'll have a wheelchair brought up to you and all you have to do is sign a few release forms and you're free to go. Oh, and if you have any more issues that come up do not hesitate to contact me, and good luck to you, young man."
As the doctor turned to leave the room you held up and blurted out, "Wait!"
Deephorn turned back to face you and quirked an eyebrow. "Hmm? Yes? What is it?"
You cleared your throat, unsure of how to ask the question, but you needed to know. "Who... is it that will be taking care of me?"
