Mrs. Cake descended the stairs sporting a dazzling smile and with a tiny, adorable passenger perched on her back. Unlike her show counterpart (who was drawn with the generic beady-eyed assets of an infant pony), Pumpkin Cake had a bit more "realistic" shape to her eyes and muzzle, looking much more in line with a mini version of an adult pony. Since this was supposed to be taking place at the beginning of season 6, she no longer wore a diaper and was most likely potty trained by now. Pumpkin gazed at you curiously with dazzlingly blue eyes, clearly not sure what to make of you yet. You didn't blame her,
Mrs. Cake lifted her daughter from her back and drew her into her arms, before bringing Pumpkin up so that she could get a better view of you. "This is Anon, sweetie, he's going to be joining us for dinner. Say hello, dearie."
You smiled and bent your knees, kneeling until you were face to face with the filly, and brought your hand up to her nose and allowed her to sniff it. "Hi there, Pumpkin. I'm glad to meet you. I hope your mom and I can become good friends."
Pumpkin muzzle scrunched up as you booped her right on the snout before she giggled in delight.
Mrs. Cake saw all this and nodded and hummed her approval. "Looks like she already likes you."
You grinned and ruffled at Pumpkin's mane. "Well, what can I say? I love kids, and the kids love me."
You used to read aloud to a group of young kids that would come into your grandma's antique shop to distract them while their parents shopped, an activity that you particularly enjoyed and that you sorely miss. Seeing their bright smiling faces always brought joy even when you were having a rough day.
Mrs. Cake smiled at you warmly. "I can see that now. You're going to make a mare very happy someday."
You scratched behind your head and sighed. "I... I don't know about that. I guess that now that I'm living here in Equestria it's only a matter of time before a pony should take a romantic interest in me. I honestly don't know if I'm ready for that quite yet. I'm going to need some time to think about it."
Mrs. Cake placed a comforting hoof on your shoulder. "Take all the time you need to figure it out, dearie. When you do, there will be at least 10 mares lined up who will want to get to know you better."
