After the first two tugs went unanswered, Madeline glanced nervously at the patiently-dying Franky. “Just an itty bitty hiccup, no worries. ***JASON!!***” she shrieked. She’d only known the boy for thirty minutes and she’d already had it up to hear with the man. “***I AM NOT PLAYING AROUND, COME AND GET ME!!***” And she gave yet another yank. “***YOU DON’T WANNA KNOW ABOUT THE RUCKUS I’LL MAKE IN HERE IF YOU DON’T!!***

“Come!” *Yank.* “On!” *Yank.* “I’m!” *Yank.* “Right!” *Yank*. “*Here!*” *Yank.* “*Don’t!*” *Yank.* “Leave me!” *Yank*. “Down here!” *Yank*. “Or I’ll…”

Well, that yank felt a bit different. Then Madeline looked up and saw the other end of the rope drifting blissfully down into the soup, where it disappeared beneath the churning stomach acids.

Madeline looked at Franky, whose eyes had been closed for a concerning length of time at this point. She looked at the rope in her hands.

She laughed nervously. “Oh! Oh, eh heh… oh *beans*.” And she collapsed into the lake with a splash and wrapped her arms around Franky. “Oh **beans!**” she cheered with another, hearty laugh as she felt the acids eating away at the topmost layer of her epidermis.
