The two women walked slowly down the hallway to find their two other companions. Both of them were thinking of the strange events that the diary depicted. It seemed crazy to think a person could swallow another person whole, but for some strange reason, it appealed to both women. Merill was interested in the thought of feeling a living body inside her stomach, it seemed like such a erotic and unusual thing to do. Just thinking of having her stomach wrapped around some hunky guy was making the thief excited. Genie was less interested in the eroticism of the act and more of the practical uses. Having a weaker opponent as a snack would be the ultimate way to prove her might over the feeble chauvinistic pigs that she usually fought. She was always being sorely underestimated because of her gender by most of the men she fought and nothing got under her collar like being thought of as a weak little girl. Being gulped down like a piece of candy would be the ultimate way of proving her valor. Genie looked over to Merill and Merill looked back. The girls shared a forced a small and gave a curt and fake laugh.
“Imagine, a woman eating a man whole,” Merill laughed while at the same time imagining how they would struggle.
“Utterly preposterous,” Genie said, not trying to think of the look of defeat on her opponents faces as if they ended up on the otherwise of her stomach. Both girls fell silent then, not wanting the other to know how they really feel about the discovery. It didn’t really matter any way, the statue was probably a million miles away in the clutches of some rich art collector. Too bad really, It would have been interesting if they had ever touched it.
“Where do you think Melissa or Louie are?” Genie asked Merill wishing to end any talk about eating other people.
“The idiot is probably getting the girl into trouble as we speak,” Merill sarcastically commented with a roll of her eyes. Out of all the champion, in all the worlds, why in the name of all the Gods did they have to get stuck with that fist dragging monkey boy. Soon they came to the entrance to the house where both Melissa and Louie were standing. Actually, Louie was the only one standing; Melissa was wobbling back and forth on her legs like she was drunk. Thinking that was exactly the case, Merill and Genie glared daggers at the resident lush.
“Did you give her booze?” Merill accused ready to give the mother of all Louie punches to the resident wizard. Louie raised his hands in a calming matter and tried to explain.
“I did no such thing, she’d been like this ever since we found that…”
“Louie, shut up and help me get outside!” Melissa bellowed at Louie before he could mention the statue. For some strange reason she didn’t want to mention the strange artifact to the other girls. For now, she had the treasure tucked away in one of her inner pockets.
“Are you okay Melissa?” Genie asked apprehensive for her friend’s safety.
“Ya, I just think I’m a little hungry, a sandwich when we reach home will solve that problem.” Melissa gave a weak smile as Louie helped her get out of the villa. All four explorers walked outside and headed home, unaware of the time bomb ticking away in Melissa that would make her a carnivorous man eater soon.
