Family Discussion Tiny Way Of Life chapter 10 by copier · original author: derpatron

You angrily pace around the kitchen counter, waiting for your sister to call you back after leaving her several messages. You still couldn't believe what Tulip had done. Jenny sat in the corner, having been scolded by your wife. You were lucky she noticed you and Jet were missing and brought your daughter home early. "Don't you think you're jumping to conclusions a little?", she said as she gave your son a bath.
"You don't know my sister like I do, Angela. I don't want our son going through the same mess I did." Your wife dressed him in a new change of clothes and set him on the counter in a small chair beside you.

"I'm just saying, it'll be pretty embarrassing if it's another of Jet's little stories." Your son had a habit of telling weird and bizarre lies if he felt like he was going to get in trouble, having something of a gift for making them up on the spot.
He looked really nervous. "Um... can I go watch TV, please? I don't wanna...."
You interrupted him. "No, son. I want you to be here for this. You can't let people push you around just because you're smaller than them." You started going off about how successful you had become despite your handicap. Suddenly, you heard the phone ring.
"M-momma. Is breakfast ready yet?", Jet asked, trying to find a reason to leave. You were pretty sure he didn't want to get his aunt in trouble.
You put the phone on loudspeaker. "Tulip? It's me, your brother", you greet her, attempting to hide your anger.

"*yawn* Hey, Steve. Sorry I didn't return your calls. Had kind of a late start today. What's up?", Tulip said.
"It's about Jet..."
"How is my favorite nephew? It feels like it's been forever since I've seen him."
You clenched your fist listening to her, flashbacks of her "playing" with you when you were younger coming to mind and mental images of her doing the same to your son. "He's fine now, no thanks to you."
"Did something happen to him? Wait, what did I do?", Tulip said with seemingly genuine surprise.
"Do you remember what you told him the last time you watched him and Jenny?" You managed to remain calm despite your pent-up frustration.
"Hmm... I think I told Jet that if he doesn't let other kids push him around, he'd be as successful as you one day", she replied. You had used your life story to attempt to inspire Jet enough that it was basically written in his head. "Why, did he manage to succeed at life while I wasn't looking?", Tulip asked with a giggle.

"You know damn well what I'm talking about, Tulip!" You had finally snapped and angrily told her everything your son had told you, ignoring how nervous Jet was listening to this.
