Riza was slowly developing a second chin. It seemed that all the food that she ate went to her belly almost exclusively. Riza probably weighed somewhere in the neighborhood of eight hundred pounds but that didn't seem to effect her mobility much, if at all. Both of her arms had ballooned in both muscle and fat.
"I gotta admit that was pretty bad ass" said the dragon. "not many people can kill a bear with their bare hands. Not bad at all for a lard ass"
"A pig would have better table manners" said Lust in mild digust.
"You saw what I did to the bear?" asked Riza.
"We sure did" said the dragon. "You have the same bloodlust as I do. I can see it in your eyes. You're a killer alright"
Riza seemed to collect herself before answering. "Yeah"
There was five beats of silence in which Riza noticed that there was blood near her mouth and on her shirt. She wiped the blood off of her face. The dragon looked around as did Edward who was yet to speak. When the dragon had landed, Edward had stared at Riza in an almost reverent way.
"How did you find me?" asked Riza.
"We found this...tablet thing that detected life" said Edward holding up the device. "We ended up in a ruined city that's forty miles away"
"A ruined city?" asked Riza.
"It definitely looks as though civilization came and left" said Lust.
"We're all alone here" said Riza. "there are few traces of people living here recently but they're not here"
"Dimensional Convergence Point detected" said the tablet in a flat electronic voice that vaguely sounded feminine. This drew the attention of everyone.
"This thing can detect a Dimensional whatsit?" asked Lust.
"It's not anywhere close" said Edward. "according to this....it's almost one hundred miles to the south"
The dragon whistled. "It can detect something that far away?"
"It was a pretty advanced civilization" said Edward.
"Must be a satellite connection" said the dragon glancing up at the sky.
"A what?" asked RizaRiza
"We didn't have satellites in our home dimension" said Edward. "well....we had the moon, of course. Are you talking about artificial satellites?"
"Yeah" said Riza. "In my dimension there are probably over one thousand satellites in geosynchronous orbit above the Earth that sends all kinds of signals to any number of devices"
"Fascinating..." said Edward.
"And this system has been in operation for over a thousand years?" asked Lust.
"I..personally don't know how long satellites can stay up in orbit" said the dragon. "They don't stay in orbit indefinitely. They're not that high in orbit to stay in the air"
"Nevermind that now" said Riza. "who's your friend?"
"Rebecca" replied the dragon. "but you can call me Revy"
"There's a cabin nearby" said Riza. "The people that were at the cafe are turning up there"
"Lead the way" said Edward.
The cabin was a good three miles away. Riza was in the lead right beside Revy while Edward and Lust were just a step or three behind. On the way there, Riza explained what a homunculus was to Revy.
"So, you're immortal?" asked Revy.
"Yes" said Riza. "at the cost of sacrificing countless people, a Philosopher's Stone can be made that bestows immortality. I still have the body of a human so what can kill a human can probably kill me. However, thanks to the Stone I can regenerate many times before the Stone is used up and I'll die permanently"
"There's always a catch" said Revy.
"That catch are human lives" said Edward.
"Can't make an omellte without breaking an egg" replied Revy.
"There's a price for everything" said Lust.
Edward remained silent, not wanting to start an argument. Riza glanced behind at Edward.
"I told you I would reverse what happened to me if I could" said Riza.
"You're still thinking like a human, Gluttony" said Lust.
"Gluttony?" asked Revy.
"Each of the homunculi are named after the seven deadly sins" said Edward.
"That would explain why you're a fat ass?" asked Revy.
"This fat ass just wrestled a bear and lived to tell about it" said Riza. "want to test what I can do to you?"
Revy literally roared with laughter at that, sending out a huge plume of fire from her mouth. The laughter revealed that Revy had a mouthful of fangs.
"Hold it!" barked a voice from somewhere in the underbrush up ahead. A woman emerged from the underbrush quick as lightning. It was a blond-haired woman that was unarmed. Riza registered that the woman had a ring on a finger that had a blade on it.
"It's just us" said Revy.
The woman calmed down.
"You jumped up facing an armed person?" asked Revy. "what exactly were you planning to do then?"
"I have an ace up my sleeve" replied the woman slyly.
"And what would that be?" asked Riza.
"I'll show you later" said the woman. "I'm Annie"
"They sent you on patrol?" asked Revy dismissively. "you're not even armed"
"Shall I demonstrate on you?" asked Annie who raised two of her arms in a fighting stance.
"That's enough, Annie" said a voice from above. Everyone looked up to see a handsome man standing on a wide tree branch some thirty feet up. As the group watched, the man shot grappling hooks at the ground which came from the boxy contraptions on each hip. The man shot to the ground right in front of Revy.
"You don't always need guns to solve your problems" said the man looking up at Revy with absolutely no fear on his face.
Revy made a low growling sound.
"I'm Captain Levi" said the man to the rest of the group. There was suddenly the sound of 100,000 screaming girls coming from somewhere.
Revy and the others looked around.
"What was that?" asked Riza.
"Ignore that" said Levi. "happens all the time"
Shortly after that, Riza and the others were led to the cabin. Next to the cabin was a building that looked out of place. It was a large dome that was almost twice as big as the cabin. The words "Capsule Corp" was written in large letters on the side of the dome-shaped building.
"Where did that come from?" asked Revy pointing at the new building.
"From me" replied a blue-haired woman who exited the new building. "I'm Bulma"
An harassed-looking woman exited the new building that had black hair. The woman quickly surveyed the newcomers.
"No sign of Goten" said Bulma to the black-haired woman.
"Where can he be?!" asked the other woman in a frantic voice.
"I'm sure he's alright, Chi-Chi" said Bulma. "he's probably with Trunks more than likely"
"How can you be so sure?!" asked Chi-Chi.
Bulma opened her mouth, closed it. "Well, I can't be absolutely certain but those two seem to stick around each other"
"Let's just go in the cabin" said Riza.
