Riza and Greed were walking along the edge of the forest outside of Central when Riza caught a scent in the air. Actually several scents. All of them were.....human, although two of them also had a tinge of wildness to it. The other scent a machinal tinge.
"We have company" said Riza quietly stopping short of a tree stump. Greed stopped to glance around.
Edward Elric emerged from the forest followed by two towering men that Riza thought looked vaguely familiar.
"Hi there Ling" said Edward. "And......Lieutenant Hawkeye?!"
"The name is Greed, kid" said Greed but all of Ed's attention was on Riza. The two men shifted uncomfortably.
"Hiya, Ed" said Riza.
"What are you doing with Ling?" asked Ed.
"We're on the same sinking ship" said Greed. "And my name is--"
"Excuse me" said one of the men who smelled like a lion. "Can we find somewhere to have this reunion?"
Greed sighed. " I guess it's back to the shack, Gluttony "
Edward stood there for a moment to work out what Greed said. Edward paled.
"They turned you into a homunculus?!" demanded Edward his voice raising . "Man, that makes me want to kill that bastard even more now"
"That goes double for me" said Riza.
"You mean..."
"I have my own mind" said Riza. "Now......what are you doing here, Ed?"
" I'm looking for my brother " said Edward. "We kinda got separted up north"
"And made friends I see" said Greed eyeing the two men behind Ed. "Well....Al isn't here"
The two men glared at Edward. "Yeah, you really know your brother"
" Oh shut up" replied Ed.
"You ate Envy...?" asked Ed faintly. He gave out a sort of hollow laugh.
The group had went back to the shack where Riza told Edward everything that had happened to her. The two men were introduced as Darius and Heinkel who used to work for Kimblee.
"Shortly after, Greed here attacked Wrath and made his escape" said Riza. " And I joined with him. I was tired of being a hostage "
"I can imagine" said Ed. " Well....no, I can't imagine what's it like to be a homunculus "
"I hate it" said Riza in a quiet voice.
"You can't deny being a homunculus has its perks" said Greed
Riza glowered at Greed. It was a death stare that could turn lesser men into stone.
"You honestly believe that I like being this way?" asked Riza. " I was violated. Changed. Twisted. If there was a way to reverse this i would take it in a heartbeat "
"Whoa, whoa" said Greed. " Let's not fight. Fighting with women just isn't my style "
"I know just how you feel" said Heinkel. "If I could return to the way I was I would take it"
"Perhaps there is a way" said Edward.
Greed snorted. "I wouldn't bet on it. I'm not saying that it's impossible but I don't think it can be reversed, Gluttony"
" My name is Riza! " barked Riza. "If you call me Gluttony I'll eat you up"
It was then when Riza noticed that Edward's gaze was lingering on her fat gut. When Edward saw that Riza had noticed him staring he quickly averted his eyes. Riza tilted her head quizzically at Edward.
"I have no intention on being your snsck, lieutenant" said Greed .
"I say let's go take care of that bastard" said Edward. "How about you, Ling?'
"I said my name is Greed"
"I don't care" said Edward. "Ling would never--"
"Ling volunteered" said Greed. " In any case, we have no hope in defeating Father with just the five of us"
"Those aren't very good odds, Ed" said Riza.
Edward growled. "Then what do you suggest we do?!"
" Why not come with me? " asked Greed. "I'm building another family. One that I won't abandon this time"
"I don't care who I work for as long as I'm fed" said Darius. Heinkel agreed.
Edward mulled it over. "I'm a fugitive now. Might as well go with you"
Greed laughed. "Are you serious, kid? You have to following my orders"
" I'm used to it" said Ed. "Although.....I want to stop by my hometown to get my automail looked over"
Greed studied Ed for a moment, his expression unreadable. "Alright. I need you in top condition after all"
During the rather lengthy journey to Resembol, Riza noticed that Ed kept looking at her fat gut like he was admiring it. It didn't happen oftem . Ed had the good grace to quickly look away when he saw Riza looking at him.
Don't tell me that Ed has a thing for fat women thought Riza. Besides being only a teenager she wasn't interested in Ed. However....as the journey went on and on, Riza was finding herself being turned on by the idea of teasing Ed with her fat gut. Riza shook her head. No. That was simply not going to happen.
