The shack was empty but it did smelt like someone had been there earlier. A squatter no doubt. Who even owned this shack?
Riza managed to grab some food for Ling. He wolfed it down as though he was starving. Riza circled around the house several times to make sure that they were alone. During one of these, Riza surprised herself by burping rather loudly.
"Nice one" said Greed's voice. He walked out of the shack and gave Riza a look. " Although.....you aren't supposed to have a real stomach from what I understand"
"Yeah....Ed told me" said Riza.
It was right at this moment when Riza felt a tremendous amount of power enter her body. It was so much power that Riza felt like she was gaining even more weight despite the fact that she wasn't growing at all. Riza stumbled a bit unsteadily on her feet but managed to keep her balance.
Greed gave out a hollow laugh. "Looks like it's sayonara for dear little Envy"
"What...?"
"When a homunculus eats another homunculus they absorb their power" said Greed. "Or that's what Father said once"
Riza looked at her rotund self and tried to change her form. It took Riza several tries but managed to adopt Envy's body without meaning to change into Envy. Riza was now a fatter version of Envy. Riza just couldn't get rid of her fat belly no matter how hard she tried.
By the time that Riza stopped experimenting with her shape shifting ability, Greed was walking away.
"Whoa, where are you going?"
" Uh? " asked Greed. "I'm done working with the others"
"You can help me taking them down" said Riza.
"That doesn't interest me" said Greed. He continued to walk away. He made a dozen or so steps when he stopped and glanced back at Riza. "Why don't you join me? I could use a homunculus on my new team"
"I won't abandon Colonel Mustang" said Riza.
" Think of it as....a tactful retreat" said Greed.
Riza scowled.
"You're a glorified hostage if you go back there" said Greed. "You can't help your colonel that way. Come with me and you'll be free to do whatever you want......within my reason of course"
" Your reason? "
Greed smiled. "Of course I'll be the one in charge. I'll decide on what we will do"
Riza hesitated before following Greed away from the shack.
"I'm used to following orders" said Riza.
Riza and Greed strolled from the shack. Riza glanced back in the direction of Central and made a vow that she would return to the colonel even if it meant going up against Greed. R
