Riza woke with a start and went instinctively for her sniper rifle. When she failed to find it her memory snapped back into place. Riza spent a minute just laying on the bed trying to calm down. A glance at the clock in the darkened room told her it was just passed three o'clock in the morning. She sighed heavily and climbed out of bed. The bed creaked with her weight coming off of it.
The group had arrived in Resembol two days earlier only to find that nobody was at the Rockbell house. A scribbled note on the door told that Pinaka had gone to see Winry at Rush Valley. Of course Winry wasn't at Rush Valley but with Scar somewhere with Alphonse....hopefully. Ed convinced Greed to stay put with help from Riza.
It was hunger that had awoken Riza. That and those nightmares that wouldn't go away and probably never will.
Riza left the bedroom of Pinaka Rockbell and into the kitchen to look for some food. She ate at what little food she could find and that's when she recalled there was some kind of festival going on in Resembol. A sheep festival. Something to celebrate the return of spring. Riza smiled ruefully as she came to a decision.
Riza exited the house and started to walk off towards the direction of the sheep. She stopped short when she caught the scent of Greed. Riza glanced backwards to see Greed leaning against the wall next to the front door. Greed just looked at Riza his expression unreadable.
"Can't ignore it, eh?"
Riza said nothing but continued to walk on.
Greed made to follow her but changed his mind.
Riza returned to the house some forty minutes later. She was noticeably fatter. While the old Gluttony didn't gain weight in spite of how much he had eaten the direct opposite seemed to be happening with Riza for some reason.
"How many did you eat?" asked Greed sounding genuinely curious . It was still night and Greed was still leaning on the wall.
"Six sheep" said Riza. " I thought because there was so much sheep that nobody would notice if a few sheep went missing"
"It took you this long to eat six sheep?"
" I had to dodge the shepards" said Riza. "I don't eat people"
" You ate Envy" said Greed.
Riza scowled.
"You can't deny on the what you are, Gluttony"
Riza slammed Greed up against the wall forcefully. She opened her mouth wide....and stopped herself.
"Want me to start by eatting you?" snarled Riza.
" Not at all" said Greed. "But you're no longer human now"
"So it's alright to commit murder since I'm not human?!"
" You leave no evidence behind" said Greed. "You can't be arrested if there's no evidence"
Riza glared at Greed. " I'm not going to be a homunculus like you or the others. I still like humans. I wish I could go back ---"
"I have nothing against humanity" said Greed. " Not like the others at least. Humans are tremendously flawed, yes, but I just can't bring myself to hate humans "
"Is that supposed to make me feel better?" asked Riza. " And you have the nerve to say that I should embrace what happened to me when you betrayed Wrath? "
"I have embraced what happened to me" said Greed. "And so has Ling. He doesn't regret his choice, lieutenant. It might have been a poor decision on his part but Ling is slowly coming to terms with it"
"So what's to stop me from eatting you?"
" What if I told you I knew what Father is up to? " asked Greed. That made Riza release her grip on Greed. The two looked at each other.
"Well?" asked Riza.
" I would prefer to discuss it with Ed and the others " said Greed.
"Alright" said Riza.
Riza walked back into the house. She caught a glimpse of Edward retreating hastily out of the living room. Riza sighed and followed Edward.
"Ed" said Riza. "We need to talk"
" Yeah, I heard" said Ed. "What do you think that bearded man is--"
Riza pushed Edward up against the wall with her belly. "Not about that. About the way you've been staring at my big gut"
"Lieutenant?!"
" Don't act so coy" said Riza rubbing her belly against Ed. "You like big women, don't you Edward?"
" I thought you were Gluttony and not Lust" said Ed under his breath looking away from Riza.
"I don't know what's coming over me" said Riza. "But I'm getting all hot and bothered with you looking at my stomach"
