You're really too small to tell how fast you're traveling, like being on a long road trip, seconds turn to minutes, and after half an hour of airtime, you settle on the desolate fabric of a grey couch cushion. There is an eclectic assortment of stray hairs, both human and from your dog, Beau. This is really the first time you've seen any trace of that dog as he's been kept well clear of the living room since your shrinking. You wonder if he'll start making an appearance again now that you're too small to consider "alive".

 

Apart from that, only a few food crumbs catch your eye before you see the unmistakable continent that is your mom. Eleanor is sitting curled up on the far side of the couch, deeply invested in some book, perhaps trying to take her mind off the recent weeks. At least a mile away were the wiggling soles of her feet; they were filthy from the day's chores and not something you were keen on getting closer to, but it would be your only avenue of climbing her.

 

Quickly, you start to trek across the cushion to Eleanor's mountainous feet, rushing past old Cheeto crumbs and sharp toenail clippings the size of ship anchors, you reach Eleanor. Her soles were caked in dust and dirt, and the smell was already giving you a headache. Reaching a hand out, you gingerly touch the grimy surface, and unsurprisingly, it is as hard as a rock. There was no way in hell she'd feel you down here, but you couldn't stay for long; eventually, Eleanor was going to get up, and you'd be stranded. Quickly, you decide to....
