Skola opened his mouth as much as he could without breaking something, giving the figure a long hard look at its own fate: a cavern of flesh that craved to devour it whole.
It squirmed in response, but not from fear.
It remained excited as Skola finally brought it to his mouth. If anything, it got MORE excited. Desperate, even.
The young man could hold it in his mouth only barely, but he knew as much. It was by design. It should have by all rights been a perfect fit for its function.
And yet...
The size was right. The taste was right. It was fully conscious like the other ones, moved the same, expressed itself as if it had an actual soul.
Worst of all, Skola WAS hungry, which only elevated his annoyance over this situation.
He spat the thing back to his palm, observing it once more.
He had wanted others to understand the joy of eating a homunculus, and had figured that by designing one that had been imprinted with the purpose of being eaten they could be coa-- eased into it.
Skola continued to stare at the heaving, slimy figure on his palm.
Why was this one so awful?
Its face was overflowing with joy with a hint of confusion. It had never expected to see the light of day ever again. And it was that face that finally gave Skola his revelation.
The appeal had been in eating something living. What was the point in something that didn't struggle to live?
Skola's fingers idly played with his flowing locks as the creature continued to whine and plead. He was glossing over what this breakthrough might have said about his own self as the creature became more and more appealing with this.
He smiled.
Perhaps this one had its own appeal.
The pathetic little thing was dropped down on Skola's desk as his firm chest started to peek amidst undone buttons.
He had been ignoring other things in favor of this meal, but those desires could swap in for now. It was time to perform an experiment.
"Let's see if you can earn your flavor."
