After taking a few more seconds to observe Xiao-Long Chao playing the role of Scott Carey, Zang Xiu decided that it was time for her to intervene. The little man belonged to her after all and as fascinating as it would be to watch the spider do its thing, she didn't feel like sharing her toys.
With the snap of her fingers the eight-legged horror froze in place as its limbs refused to obey their master. Nature's perfect predator hissed a demonic hiss as it was forced to watch its prey get further and further away. It thrashed and thrashed, desperate to catch up with its meal but alas, Chao was out of its reach.
Speaking of the little man in question, he blocked out the evil hiss as best he could with his hands as he continued to run towards the only other predator in the room. He'd rather take his chances with Zang Xiu than a beast ripped straight from his nightmares.
With his lungs burning and tears in his eyes, he slammed into the giantess's big toe and held on for dear life in the hopes that she would protect him from the monster. The woman in black could see the absolute fear and desperation clear on his face. Whatever fight he had left in him had been whittled down to almost nothing by the arachnid. That irked her somewhat as she wanted to break him. Her! Her plan had worked a little too well and now her angry gaze was locked on the spider.
The little predator almost seemed to shrink back in fear as its animal instincts began to kick in. This creature wasn't like the one it'd been chasing. No, this one was bigger, stronger, and the look in its eyes screamed death. This was a predator greater than itself, an apex predator. It had to move! It had to get away! In order to survive it had to make a hasty retreat.
Zang Xiu meanwhile ignored the frightened little, tiny at her feet and instead stomped her way over to the frozen creature that was looking at her with just as much fear as Xiao-Long Chao. The giant woman in black was angry that the arachnid had done something she wanted to do and stole her thunder. She didn't care if it had been a part of her plan! The multi-eyed creature was going to pay!
From his fetal position on the floor, Xiao-Long Chao watched the kaiju of a woman raise her foot high into the air before bringing it down hard on top of the monster. She repeated the process again and again and again until she was satisfied, and just to add insult to injury she began grinding her foot into the hardwood as well. She was determined to wipe the creature from existence and Chao wouldn't complain if she did.
All that was left of the spider by the time she was done was a tiny little smear of guts. The beast was unrecognizable as any sort of creature now and with the snap of her fingers, her foot and floor were clean. "Well that happened. Now, where was I?"
She turned her attention back to where Chao was waiting, still curled up in a little ball. Zang Xiu walked over to the shrunken man, hot tea still in hand, and scooped him up under her fingernail.
"Do you see what happens when you don't obey me. I told you to stay put and you didn't listen." She continued to scold. "Next time I tell you do something you do it, otherwise the next time you need help I'll just look the other way. Do you understand?"
Even if he were scared half to death, Chao understood and nodded his pretty little head. If Zang Xiu gave him an order he'd follow it. If she told him to jump, then he'd ask how high. His answer seemed to appease the black-clad woman before she brought him in closer to ask a very important question.
"Good. Now tell me Mr. Chao... where is our little mugger friend and don't lie to me, because I'll know if you do."
