You and your mother were too stunned to react, and in your case you only did when it was already too late, you were brought right before her face, more specifically her eye. You felt a bit intimidated, as if, through her eye alone she was scanning your entire being, soul included.

You couldn't even begin to comprehend what Zuemy's mom had to do with any of this. But before either of you did anything, she put you back on your mom's left cheek.
