Much to your surprise, the number calling is listed as Unknown, which is in itself pretty odd. You shuddered, sensing an ominous vibe from it, as not even spam callers had hidden numbers like that. It almost sounded like a government thing or secret agency.
'Don't be stupid, that only happens in movies... besides... what's the worst it could happen?' You thought, mentally slapping yourself for being so paranoid. But once you gave the phone another look, something seemed amiss, the font with which "Unknown" looked slightly glitched, and your phone had never done that before. As the third ring sounded, you hesitantly answered, hoping to put an end to this for good. However, your stomach sank when instead of an actual human voice, you were greeted by a very obviously robotic automated voice. It appeared to have some heavy static and it took a couple of seconds for the signal to seemingly stabilize so you could hear the message. Luckily for you, it appeared like it was on a loop.
"Welcome to the A.R.E.A." Was the first thing you heard clearly and you had no idea what the hell that was supposed to be
"You have been selected for the first round of beta testing..." You raised an eyebrow, maybe it was the name of some new gaming company, but you still found it weird that they called you over the phone rather than send you an e-mail as usual. Then again, you didn't even sign up for whatever this was.
"Press number 7 to confirm you've received this message..." The voice said, and after that there was silence. You waited for any other possible options, but after roughly 5 minutes, the message looped again, and once you got to the pause you decided to do as it said since there were no options, and besides, getting a free game to test wouldn't hurt.
As soon as you pressed 7 in your phone, the screen changed to something you had never seen before. It was a black screen and in the background you could see what appeared to be rapid equations and other mathematical operations you didn't understand, but then a text box appeared right in the middle of the screen.
[Subject BLXY-0091 acknowledged and confirmed]
"Huh?! Subject?!" You thought out loud. That nagging feeling that were was something wrong with this intensified. And it definitely didn't look like you'd be getting your hands on some new game after all.

You stopped for a moment to think that maybe this was the game's intro...
'There's no way they actually analyzed all my vitals using my friggin phone, is there? I might be worried about my fingerprint info though...' You thought

Your hands shook slightly, and you started to pray to see some familiar game company logo soon after this to laugh off at the stupidity of your worries, but sadly, that did not happen.

"What the hell is this supposed to be?" You mutter in disbelief at the sudden appearance of these numbers with no apparent meaning. Next, it appeared that your phone started to get overloaded and you quickly found that you couldn't turn it off nor exit whatever program this was. Suddenly, an electrical pulse escaped your device and it hit you, kind of like a taser, paralyzing you, falling on your stomach with a loud thud. Your phone was right next to your face as it began to vibrate more intensely than it should be possible, and its screen shone brighter and brighter until it finally blinded you with a sudden insanely strong flash... And that was the last you knew, as a sort of shockwave hit you and knocked you out...
An unknown amount of time later, you groggily wake up, your head hurts and you imagine this is what a hangover feels like. Soon, you try to regain your bearings as you sit up and as soon as your eyes regain their focus, you look around only to realize that...
