" *sigh* We'll be right back" Jen said to you, blushing a little and giving a confident giggle. She took another deep breath and got herself back into the mood to beat Toxic Lily to the ground, for sure this time.
Feeling that she was close to being beaten for good, Lillian decided to fight more aggressively, charging at Toxic Lily and throwing several punches at her. They were slower than Jen's, but noticeably stronger, as Toxic Lily's arms hurt while blocking them. Then she saw Jen rushing by her side and chuckled internally.
'You've already used that trick twice, do you really expect me to fall for-' Toxic Lily thought, pushing Lillian away to deliver an elbow hit to counter Jen, but her elbow hit nothing. Her eyes widened, and when she looked back at Lillian, she landed a powerful punch to her stomach, followed by another to the face that knocked her down. With her down, Lillian then tried stomping on her stomach, but she rolled away... only to get kicked in the ribs by Jen and then by Lillian after that.
Toxic Lily rolled away from both and hastily got up, her sides felt those hits for sure, and the fact that Jen fooled her only made her anger spike harder. Casting further thoughts aside, she tried punching Jen, who dodged it and countered with a precise punch to the collarbone, knocking some air out of her lungs, stunning her briefly. As she had done last time, Jen delivered a furious and quick barrage of punches, most of them aimed at her stomach and mid-section, but finished it with a left and a right hook to the face, making her feel somewhat dizzy, but even in that state, Toxic Lily managed to knee Jen in the stomach, as she was wide open for attack while she was fixated on beating her.
The two girls resumed their frenzied exchange, though it was more evenly fought this time, with both girls roughly taking the same amount of punches, but still, Jen's hurt more even when going punch-for-punch.
'She really hates Lily' You thought, your eyes widened at Jen's ferocious display, she ignored the punches she took, and in fact, took several just for a guaranteed counter-hit at Toxic Lily. But something felt off. Jen was slowing down, she was growing tired, and while she could hit very, very hard, such a prolonged fight was already taking its toll on her. Also realizing this, Toxic Lily smiled, slowly going onto the offensive as Jen was no longer to keep up her fierce assault, forcing her to back away.
Jen was breathing heavily, a fire burning in her eyes, but her body wasn't responding as quickly as she needed it to, and soon began taking a beating from Toxic Lily's part. The bully punched her in the face several times before tackle-slamming her against the lockers. While she wanted to make them despair before, Toxic Lily was aware that she had taken a fair beating herself, and at this point she needed to take one of her two enemies out so she could focus on the remaining one, but when she raised her arm to give that finishing punch to Jen, who was guarding as best as she could, she suddenly found herself unable to move, a pair of arms had slipped under her armpits and locked hers from moving, she also felt a familiar, yet annoying soft squishiness pressing against her back... Lillian had snuck up on her and caught her in a full Nelson grab.
"Jen! Now!" She shouted, and much to her chagrin, she could sense that the fire in her brown-haired enemy burned anew. Not wasting any time, Jen punched Toxic Lily's struggling, virtually defenseless form with impunity, she used her stomach as an improvised punching bag. In the mean time, the scarred bully tried to shake Lillian off her back, but it proved futile, for she was significantly heavier than herself, and her raw strength also surpassed hers.
To you, it was pretty surreal, to see your two friends holding someone to viciously attack like that. Without context, they'd definitely look like they were the bad guys, but the one they were attacking, that was almost a legit monster. The fact that nobody in the crowd objected further attested this, she was feared and despised by most people who weren't bullies themselves, and even many of these only bowed down to her because she'd beat them otherwise, and just a handful of people were actually her friends.
Jen gave it her all, focusing all her might and rage into every punch, and after several to the abdomen, she went for the face, aiming to knock her out for good, but even after she kept taking hit after hit, Toxic Lily's face got bruised, but she growled and got increasingly angry, then, she managed to slam her butt into Lillian's stomach, knocking some wind out of her, making her let go. Wasting no time, she punched Jen square in the face and began a vicious assault of her own, which didn't look good at all for Jen, who had pretty much spent what energy she had left and could barely block her fists.
Toxic Lily quickly wore her defense down and soon started inflicting a brutal beatdown on her, seeking to dish back all the damage she had taken from Jen in the first place. With a powerful knee to the stomach, Jen, after taking several hits to the face, doubled down in pain. Laughing sinisterly, Toxic Lily kicked her and knocked her onto the floor, and while she was down she repeatedly kicked her in the ribs.
Still watching from a few feet away, you were horrified, your hands were shaking and your heart was beating irregularly. It seemed unreal, Lily had taken more than enough hits to knock several people senseless, and she tanked them all. You felt powerless, you wanted to go help them, but even with the largely unequal population ratio (last time you heard about it, it was said boys made up less than 20% of the student population), it was still heavily frowned upon for a guy to fight back against a girl, no matter how vicious, as Toxic Lily often exploited herself.
Lillian took a moment to recovered and she too was shocked, but she was in a position to do something about it, and while Toxic Lily was focused on kicking Jen while she was down, she tuned out the rest of the world and failed to notice Lillian coming from behind her, she struck her in the back of her neck with her elbow, putting in as much weight and strength as she could manage. That hit sent a wild electrical surge all across Toxic Lily's nerves, as if her nervous system shorted out, which in a way, it did. But even in that state, she angrily turned around and threw a punch at her, that Lillian narrowly dodged to counter with one of her own.
While Toxic Lily engaged into yet another slugfest, you rushed to help Jen up, as she was badly beaten but still conscious.
"I'm sorry" She weakly said "I really tried to put that bitch to sleep..." she said with an equally weak chuckle but you shook your head.
"I know. But don't be. You're way more badass than anyone else here... well, almost..." You said as you two looked at Lillian, who was fighting pretty evenly against her bitter enemy, and while she wasn't exactly as agile and fast as Jen, she was more than capable enough of keeping up with Toxic Lily and even push her into defending. The level of hatred between those two was something even beyond whatever anger Jen may feel towards her, and you couldn't help but remember the numerous times she fought her by herself, since Cindy was never much of a fighter, and while Zuemy was willing to help, her short stature certainly didn't help much, and Lillian often chose not to let her friends risk it.
"Do they really go all the way back to kindergarten?" Jen asked you in disbelief. Other than because of Toxic Lily or Emily's antics, Lillian pretty much never lost her cool, and always took everything in stride, to see her this angry seemed so uncharacteristic of her, yet, you knew that's how it always had been.
"Yep. They do... and... you know, that's kind of how we became friends..." You laughed, but Jen gave you a curious look.
"You guys have never told me how that happened, now that I think about it" She said, making you feel a little embarrassed.
"W-Well, it's just a silly old story, you know, we were only 3 at the time..." You said, blushing a little. You saw that she narrowed her eyes at you and was already pouting.
"Alright, alright, after this is over I'll tell you" You sighed, and to your relief Jen's mood improved.
While Jen's attacks on Toxic Lily had been fierce and lightning quick, Lillian fought in a way that was more similar to Toxic Lily's own. The two girls viciously punched each other, though Lillian was also trying to get her into a hold to pin her down, which Toxic Lily, from years of having fought her, knew not to let herself fall into.
"H-Hey..." Jen said.
"Huh?" You looked at her, wondered what she was going to say this time.
"I know Lillian is, well, you know it better than I do... err... 'quirky', for lack of a better word..." She said, laughing a little as she felt awkward.
"Tell me about it" You chuckled.
"But... even with all the things she does, you know... even with what she does to you... she really cares about you" Jen sighed.
Seeing her how she was fighting the school's most fearsome bully one on one even after she failed to finish her off, she felt like she owed Lillian some well-deserved praise, especially since, unknown to you, she knew that she could have an immense advantage in their friendly rivalry over you, yet she chose to play fair, often pushing you two to be together and bond, or instigating some things to get you to spend time together. She still had feelings for you, and the matter hadn't been resolved, but credit had to be given where credit was due, that's how she saw it.
