Suddenly, Sheila wordlessly carried you in her hand and went to her room, closing the door behind as she entered.
"Sorry about that sweetheart. I thought it would be no good to stay there for too long" She said and you nodded in agreement, you had a feeling she was most likely talking about Lillian, but you wouldn't press her on that. Even though there's little to nothing to blame Jen for, if Ariadne's crazy theories are right, then Sheila might not want to leave you with her, putting her own daughter at a supposed disadvantage.
"Yeah, good call" You replied, still feeling awkward about the whole thing. But then again, this didn't go anywhere near as wrong as it could have. Now you're in the hands of a responsible adult... or so you hope, at least. You looked up at her face and she seemed to be deep in thought, probably wondering what exactly to do next.
"Considering how serious this is, I'd guess the right thing to do would be to take you to Miriam... but she's working... should we disturb her in the middle of a stressful day with even more stressful news?" She said, but it didn't sound so much like she was talking to you, and more like she was thinking out loud. To be fair, you weren't sure either. Even though over the years she's given you plenty of leeway as you've proven to be pretty reliable on your own, you have a feeling that her mother bear-level of overprotectiveness might come back seeing you in such a vulnerable state, and all the progress you had made so far would've been lost, not permanently, hopefully, assuming you can grow back as soon as possible.
"Then again, there's that cousin and aunt of yours..." Sheila then said and you instantly went pale. You absolutely did NOT want to deal with Celeste at this size. And while aunt Karen was by no means a bad person at all, she was far too much of an airhead to trust, specially at your current size. Even back at normal size she was enough of a ditz to cause some trouble. Sheila looked down and stared at you for a moment before she began laughing.
"It was a joke, hon! I was just kidding..." She said while still struggling to stop her laughter, which took her like a minute or so
"Don't worry sweetie, even I know that you're not fond of her. Her name's Celeste, isn't it? Anyway... I do know that it wouldn't be good to leave you with her... And as for your aunt, from what I've been able to gather, I think we can both agree that she's a bit 'cuckoo' " She chuckled
"Not that she's a bad person, but I think she makes even someone like me look smart in comparison"
You laughed a little, and given she's pretty close to her daughter, it wasn't much of a surprise that she knew that kind of info. And as she works at your school, she might have well seen her at some point. You sigh, this time in relief. Sheila's worked her magic just like she always has, lightening the mood for everyone, and you were starting to feel safe with her. Whatever she chose, it'd seem like she'd be pretty responsible about it, despite her usual laid-back ways. After a couple of minutes, it looked like she finally decided on what to do with you next...
