"Dude..this is brilliant!" Adam says walking around the hull of your hovercraft, "but why does it have wings?"
Scott runs his hands over the wing on the left side of the craft as you gesture to the edge of your closet. All of you walk over to the side of it, where Carolyn, your mother, thoughtfully installed a safety banister to prevent you falling off the edge of the shelf.
"Well, it's a hovercraft. It hovers. It's not going to fit through the walkway down to the floor so if we're gonna get it off this shelf, it's going to have to glide. Besides, I figured with it being so light, we could actually fly this thing when the wind is blowing and on thermals the way birds fly.." you explain.
"Guess I should have paid more attention during Ms. Gina's physics lessons," said Scott absentmindedly.
"Mm yea, so boys..shall we?" you ask gesturing to the craft.
You open up the hatch leading to the interior of your hovercraft. It wasn't hard to build, considering the cost of materials for a craft this size was barely anything. The real trouble was keeping it secret from your Mom, who would definitely flip out if she knew your plans to explore the world without her guiding your every step. Heck, you barely even knew most of your home even after having lived here all your life. It was about time you took your life in your own hands and had an adventure!
"Where to guys? We could fly it out the window and head off anywhere, or maybe somewhere indoors first?" you ask your friends.
