Completely engrossed in the movie, Goldie popped piece after piece of popcorn into her mouth. She chewed each one for a little bit before swallowing, practically on autopilot. Every piece seemed to taste pretty much how popcorn usually tastes, unlike that one piece she ate first. For a moment, part of her wondered what gave that first piece a bit of extra flavour, but she shrugged it off a moment later. She also felt a fluttering sensation somewhere in her abdomen, but she figured that was just her stomach getting to work on her food. As it persisted, she absentmindedly rubbed and patted her belly where she was getting this feeling.
All of this amounted to a terrible time for Blake. The groans of the stomach around him were joined by intermittent squelches as each bit of popcorn arrived at its destination. The tiny mage's cries for help were too quiet to be heard over his girlfriend's digestive noises, and the only response he got when he banged on the wall in front of him was said wall pushing harder on him and loud, rhythmic thumps echoing around him.
As Goldie continued to munch on her popcorn, not only did she remain oblivious to her boyfriend's whereabouts, she was also oblivious to how much her stomach was filling up. The cheerleader's belly, which was usually toned, was now expanding to accommodate the vast amount of popcorn she was consuming. If Blake could see from the outside the way Goldie's belly curved outward, he might have thought it was cute, but being on the inside meant being buried under all the food she was eating. When the stomach acid poured in, he was helpless to stay out of it or prevent it from breaking him down along with all the popcorn.
*BRRP!*
Goldie stifled the burp that rose up from her stomach, hoping that the sudden noise wouldn't be too loud for her tiny boyfriend. She hummed as she noticed that the burp had a hint of the extra tasty flavour from the first piece of popcorn she ate. As she started to drink from her soda cup, now feeling rather thirsty from all that popcorn, she began to get curious about that unique flavour. She considered asking Blake about it after the movie, still unaware that she had eaten and digested him.
Once the movie came to an end, Goldie reached over to her shoulder to pick Blake back up, only to discover that he wasn't there. Her eyes widened in terror as she imagined that he had fallen somewhere on the floor and gotten lost in the darkness of the movie theater. Any one of the theater-goers could have accidentally crushed him underneath their foot as they were leaving! But how could she search for him without drawing attention to herself and, by extension, his diminutive stature?
Before she could begin that search, however, Goldie got that weird feeling from before. Come to think of it, it kind of felt like something inside her was kicking and struggling to get out. She placed her hand where she could feel this sensation and her fingers brushed over a small, wriggling lump of fat that wasn't there before. The gears in Goldie's head started turning as she figured out what must have happened, and she had conflicting feelings about it. To sort out those feelings, she first had to get out of the theater and away from everyone else as quickly as possible.
Blake also worked out what had happened to him, and his instinctive response was to squirm and call out his girlfriend's name to get her attention. Although the chatter of other people in the theater was too loud for Goldie to hear him, the way her hand touched him suggested that she knew where he was. Then her brisk walk that almost went into a jog caused Blake's world to bounce up and down. Unable to struggle while Goldie was in motion like this, the trapped mage hoped that she was planning to get him out of her body.
After leaving the theater, Goldie headed back to the gym where she first found the tiny Blake. Fortunately, it was still empty, so she had the opportunity to speak with him in private. But first, she had to check something. She found where that peculiar bit of fat was and prodded it a few times.
"Ow! Ow! Ow! Stop that!" Blake's voice rang in Goldie's head.
"Oh good, you can still speak," Goldie said. "That makes this a bit easier I guess. So, um ..."
