"How about we go see a movie?" Blake suggested to his new girlfriend.

"Great idea!" Goldie replied with glee. "There's this new romantic comedy called 'Love's Zenith' that I've been wanting to see."

"Sounds fun! At my current size, I might not even need a ticket, hehe..." That comment earned the tiny mage a girlish giggle from the cheerleader.

"Oh! Right...I should probably hide you in my purse and sneak you in that way. But don't worry, little guy - I'll leave the zipper open a bit so that you can still breathe!"

Fortunately for Blake and Goldie, the movie theater was only a few minutes' walk away. With the shrunken young man carefully stowed in his date's purse, Goldie entered the movie theater and ordered a large bucket of popcorn and a soda at the counter. She never disclosed her inch-tall boyfriend's secret to the cashier, of course -- public locations like this were NOT the place to spill the beans about Blake's magical abilities!

Taking her popcorn bucket and soda cup to the viewing room, Goldie seated herself at one of the middle rows, gently fished Blake out of her purse, and placed him atop her shoulder just before previews for other films began. Soon enough, it was time for Love's Zenith to start. The mage rolled his eyes as the movie's main protagonist went on about astral signs and the alignment of planets in a rather complex effort to win his crush's heart. An early scene saw the hero being shrunken by accident - Blake could totally relate to this poor guy's mishaps, although he had deliberately gotten himself downsized through a magical pact with spirits. Approximately halfway into the film, Goldie addressed him in a hushed voice.

"Do you like the movie, Blake?" Goldie whispered.

"Y-yeah, but I'm not sure if these Hollywood writers know how magic really works..." Blake responded quietly.

"You'll have to show me at some point!"

With that, the couple continued enjoying the picture until...
