"Well, the truth is," Blake started to speak, unsure of how to phrase his supernatural deal. Questions of how Indigo would take it and whether or not she would believe him spun around his mind. Blake lifted his head and stared into Indigo's large, sparkling eyes. The difference in size created a softness behind her glasses he hadn't noticed before. He felt the tightness in his chest melt away with another breath. Blake swallowed the lump in his throat and spoke up.
“Indigo… I love you!”
Indigo’s eyes fluttered, and her face reeled at the declaration. Her usually pale face warmed up and reddened. Her scrutinizing gaze shifted, and she looked away. She brushed the bangs out from her eyes with her other hand. She cleared her throat and returned her gaze to her shrunken suitor.
”Blake that’s nice, but that doesn’t really answer my question.” Indigo was unable to resist as she grinned slightly at her tiny peer.
Blake felt his face warm as he realized that his declaration, indeed, was not sufficient.
“Ah, right. S-sorry. Well… you see… the thing is, I’m a mage.”
”A… mage? Like sorcery, wizardry, and magic?”
”Yes, exactly like that!” Blake beamed up at his crush.
“I would usually attribute that to fiction but… seeing as you are literally the size of a bug in my palm, I must contest that this is a pretty convincing outlier. Sorry, continue.” Indigo said, yielding.
Blake chuckled softly and continued, “Yeah, right well you see um… a-as a mage I… conjured up a few spirits. I offered them an exchange. Something from this realm and they would give me something from theirs.”
Indigo scanned over Blake, her gaze going over the minute form of her peer in her palm.
“I don’t see you carrying anything else. What did you trade for exactly?”
Blake’s face flushed, and he once again avoided her gaze.
“R-right well uh… I didn’t trade for an item.. per say. I asked for um… power.”
Indigo raised her brow at Blake’s statement.
Blake saw the less-than-pleased reaction form upon her face.
“T-the power to ask you out!” Indigo’s eyes widened and she recoiled again at Blake’s confession. “I asked them to make me stronger and give me the will power to ask you… to tell you that … I really really like you.”
Indigo stared at Blake, eyes still wide. Her eyes relaxed and a soft smile formed upon her lips. She let out a soft chuckle and shook her head.
”So they turned you into a bug. All of that strength and power but the physical form of something lowly and … well not insignificant but definitely easily to glance over.”
”Y-yeah.” Blake replied, hearing her frame this situation did make Blake rethink this whole thing, just a little. Indigo began to laugh softly. “What? W-what’s so funny,” Blake asked.
Indigo smiled widely, “You don’t see the symbolism for that?” Blake tilted his head.
“How do you mean?”
”Well, it could be said that you already kind of felt small and out of the way of my presence, avoiding me and almost always just out of sight. Right?” Blake felt his blush grow as he picked up on where Indigo was leading. “Then you suddenly do something, something that helps you finally do the one thing you’ve wanted to do, which is confess your love to me.” Indigo said with a smile.
”I mean of all the things spirits could take, I mean, nearly every story with them has some ironic twist that ends poorly for the deal maker. For them to just take your size, its like they let you off easy, hehe.”
Blake sat there in his crush’s palm, still reeling from the revelation that was laid out before him.
“I do say it does make for a pretty good story, don’t you think?” Blake looked up at Indigo smiling down at him, then he looked off to the side and recalled his journey. Spending that much time devoted to learning magic, finding the right tomes, communing at the right times, each conversation and deal building up the ultimate confidence to finally reach out. Blake smiled.
“Yeah, I guess it is.”
“So I guess all that's left is the hero's kiss then hm?”
Blake's eyes widened and his face flushed fully.
“W-what?” He stammered out, surprised.
“Well, I'm guess the way to return you is to give you ‘true love's first kiss?’ Hm?”
“Um, w-well a-actually-” Blake started, but as he began to speak, Idigo gently lifted the tiny mage up closer to her face. Blake’s eyes locked on the large, soft, pale lips. A light sheen reflected the light off of her upper lip. Her mouth pulled into a soft smile. It began to move again as she spoke softly.
“Yes? What is it?” Indigo asked, her head leaning to the side.
“It… its not a curse. T-the spirits told me that the effects will wear off after five days!” Indigo straightened up.
“Five days,” Indigo repeated. “When did you make this deal?”
“Um… what time is it?” Blake asked. Indigo looked to her computer and read the date then time.
“- and it is currently 1:36”
“1:36,” Blake confirmed. Indigo nodded. “Then… its only been… about 30 minutes.” Indigo's brow raised and she chuckled.
“Well, I'm glad to hear that you work fast hehe.” Blake rubbed the back of his neck.
“I uh… aim to please?”
“You most certainly do.” Blake was once again lifted towards Indigo's colossal face. Blake could see her large lips approaching.
“W-wait t-there isn't a curse! Y-you don't need to-"
“I know. I want to do this~” With that, Indigo pressed her lips firmly against Blake and pinned him to her palm. Blake felt his whole body enveloped in the soft embrace of her lips. The flesh was slightly damp and a little rubbery. The fine lines of her lips brushed against his body and made it difficult for him to wiggle away as she bore down on him, sealed under the oppressive weight of her soft kiss. Blake shut his eyes, clenched his fists, and tried to squirm. His body was unable to fight back, but his heart pumped hard and fast as waves of emotions washed over him. Each feeling of fear, love, joy, and terror wracked over him, crashing his mind with each burst. Combined with the weight on his chest and the overwhelming situation he found himself in, he could hardly breathe. Once the second had passed, Indigo pulled her face back and looked down with a look of warm care, which instantly turned into concern as she saw Blake writhe about in her palm.
“Blake?”
Blake squirmed and clutched his chest, his eyes darted around from side to side, and he took heavy breaths.
“Blake are you okay?” Indigo asked. She wondered if maybe she had overdone it, especially with their size difference. At the sound of her voice Blake seemed to refocus his attention. His breath calmed and his body untensed. Then after another second he grinned madly.
“Y-yeah! I… I feel great! Just… j-just o-overwhelemed is all. B-but in a good way!” Blake wore his smile up at Indigo, which seemed to ease her. “Y-yeah, j-just … g-give me some more time to p-prepare next time.” Indigo chuckled softly.
“Okay, I promise. So, my little lover boy~” Indigo began again. "What shall we do now?"
