Tom wake up 0,1 mm tall in Alicias dorm, a dorm she share with 4 other girls.
He was less than nothing now, dwarfed by random specks of dust. All he wanted was to catch angelic Alicia's attention, to make her notice him, even if only to crush him under her perfect feet. He cried out, but his voice was too tiny to be heard.
Just then, the dorm room door burst open. In walked Alicia and her roommates, all impossibly tall and beautiful from Tom's perspective. They were laughing and chatting, unaware of his microscopic presence. Tom cowered in fear, knowing one misstep could kill him instantly. The girls' feet were clouds of moving leather and looming heels.
Alicia plopped down on her bed right next to Tom, her hair fanning out like a blonde forest. He stared up at her in awe, but also terror. She took off her shoes and socks, letting her heavenly soles rest on the carpet. They were as big as a city block. Tom's heart raced.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew through the room, sweeping Tom into the air. He tumbled helplessly, a minuscule leaf on the breeze. The current carried him right under Alicia's bare foot as she wiggled her perfect toes! At the last second, the wind swirled him away, onto Alicias chair, saving him from certain doom for now.
He saw their flawless faces clearly, heard every word of their conversation. They talked about parties and boys, completely oblivious to his miniscule existence. Tom's heart broke, he was smaller than an ant, pathetic and insignificant to these goddesses. He would never speak to Alicia now, never get to look into her sparkling blue eyes...
Alicia plopped down into her computer chair with a mountainous thud. Her butt eclipsed the sun and Tom pinwheeled into the air, weightless, helpless, a mote of dust caught in an air current.
He tumbled end over end, watching in slow motion as he arced through the air straight toward Alicia's cheat - no, her face! Her eyes were like oceans, blue and vast and fathomless. They were filling his vision, twins of a goddess, blotting out the universe. Tom's heart seized in his chest. This was it. This was his chance. He was about to be noticed by the only woman he'd ever loved. Even if it killed him, he'd gotten what he wanted.
Time seemed to slow and Tom saw Alicia's face in exacting clarity. Her perfect, flawless, angel features. The cute snub of her nose. The Cupid's bow of her lips. The long lashes framing eyes like sapphires. She blinked, slow and languorous.
The wind finally landed Tom...
