"How about I walk you to your room?" you offer.

Izumi blushed. That was a nice offer, and it would let her get to know you more, but she was still suspicious of her. "Okay, but don't get any funny ideas. I know we just had a nice heart to heart, but that doesn't mean you can just take advantage of me," Izumi said.

"Got it. No funny ideas from me. My head is completely empty of ideas in fact," you say, getting a chuckle from Izumi.

The two of you make your way through the space station, you feeling accomplished earning Izumi's trust while she still keeps an eye on you.

"So, tell me about yourself," Izumi said.

"Huh?" you said.

"Like, your hobbies, classes, stuff like that."

"Oh," you said. You weren't expected to be asked for small talk. Usually it's the harem girls talking about themselves. "Well I uh... I take 4D math, which we just came from. I like playing video games in my spare time," you say, realizing how quickly you're running out of things to talk about yourself.

"Video games?" Izumi said, sounding interested.

It sounded like she didn't know. You knew video games existed in the future, you saw a few in your room and there was a game room in the station. "Yeah. Like, games you play on a video screen with controllers-"

"I know what they are. I didn't move to Earth that recently," Izumi said insulted. "I just never played one myself."

"Oh. Well I play fighting games, shooting games, dating s-" you stopped yourself before you could finish that last one, but from Izumi's face, it didn't seem like she understood. "But-uh- enough about me! What about you?"

"Me? Well you already know my name. I'm the first militovan to attend Space School Academy and I'm majoring in communications."

"Wait, really? The very first?"

"Yes. Why?" Izumi asked confused by your question.

"I-I just thought that in this day and age, there'd be more of you, right?"

"Ugh, there should be, honestly. But unfortunately most of the galaxy still doesn't see us as much more than sex slaves or-"

"Wait, sex slaves?" You were starting to worry Izumi's paranoia about perverted men were going to be more justified in the future.

"Uh, yeah? 83% of all Militovan women in the galaxy are enslaved in some way. 60% of them are used for sexual purposes," Izumi explained as if it were obvious.

"That's so fucked up!" you yell. Izumi's eyes went wide. This was the first time any human had reacted to that information. "Isn't this the future? The galaxy is united isn't? I thought slaver was supposed to be long gone."

Izumi's face turned to determined agreement. "I know right! The Federation claims to be a force of freedom and democracy, but what about us? What about our freedom? Shouldn't we have the same rights as every other race in the Federation?"

"Obviously. Who the heck still wants slaver in this day and age?" you say, actually curious as to how this is possible in what was supposed to be a harem isekai. Wait, now that you think about it, slavery in an isekai makes total sense.

"Just Zehm Sector, Drakovii Sector, Heinlein Sector, and bunch of other sectors run by rich elites who still profit off of slavery of people like my mom. All under the name of 'sector's rights' or some other dumb excuse."

"Wait, your mom's a slave?"

"Y-yeah. She's in the Heinlein Sector. I haven't seen her since I was a little kid though. My dad was free though, so he took me and moved to Earth Sector. But in Heinlein, I'm still registered as a slave to some guy named 'Silvia Heinlein LXXIII.' Hope I never find out who that is."

"Jeez. I had no idea. I'm sorry, Izumi."

Izumi sighed. "It's okay. I'm still proud I've come as far as I have, thanks to my mom and dad. I'm grateful for what they've done for me. Even in free sectors like Earth, things aren't perfect for us."

"Well, I hope it gets perfect soon. Know that I support you in whatever you do."

Izumi chuckled. "Thanks. It's refreshing to talk to a human like you, who sees us as more than just sex toys and genuinely wants us all free."

To be honest, you were just asking questions about something you had no idea about, but you're glad she interpreted it that way. And your position was about what she assumed anyway, so there was no harm in it.

"Well, here we are," Izumi gestured to the room you just passed in front of. "Thanks for walking me. It was nice talking to you."

"No problem. It was nice getting to know you," you say.

"Thanks. Well, see ya." Izumi says with a smile, entering her room as you say bye to her back.

You let out a breath. That was surprisingly intense, but you felt good. Not only did you get some expanded lore about the world, but you also felt like you nailed Izumi each time. It felt great. Although you feel a hard, warm, pumping in your chest, which was unfamiliar to you. Had this been going on the entire time you were with Izumi? Anyway, better head out.
