"That's.. a really nice offer,"

You let out a sigh of relief.

"But I can't accept it. I NEED to be there in person! I can't risk anything going wrong!"

You sucked the breath back in. Guess Ayano couldn't be persuaded from her cause. One look at her face told you that she was more adamant than ever.

"Well... maybe I could go with you? I've never been to Akihabara after all. It could be fun." You left out the part about how your real reason was that you were worried Ayano might pass out on the way to the game store.

"There's no need for that! And stop, it was nice of you to buy me lunch, but-- wait. You've never been to Akiba?"

Nope." You replied, silently enjoying the adorable look of confusion on the mousy girl's face. Someone so curvy should not have been so small- in your opinion it made Demi-Human Ayano super cute.

"T-that's... well... I suppose I could take you with me, just so you could see the sights... But! We're going straight to the game store and back! No other stops! Got it!"

"Got it! I'm looking forward to it, Ayano!"

Ayano didn't say anything else, but turned her head away from you and pulled out a portable game device from somewhere. You couldn't tell what it was (or where exactly she'd been keeping it), as it didn't match up with any of the brands you were familiar with.

Oh, right. The world of Harem Protagonist didn't have any brands like Nintendo, or Microsoft- it had the lawyer-friendly knockoffs instead. You'd seen it before in various anime. For example, to avoid legal issues a known brand would be slightly changed up. Something like a coffee shop (totally not Starbucks) being called Moonbucks instead.

Interesting, you wondered just how different things in this world were going to be. The brand names and trademarks you'd grown up with no longer existed- and yet they still existed in some shape or form, just... changed up enough that they weren't identical.

Those thoughts aside, you really hoped that Ayano could last until she'd acquired her game (or rather, lasted until she made it home afterwards.) You had no idea what would happen if she passed out on the train going to or from Akiba. Looking to your side at Ayano, the girl seemed to be deeply focused on the game system in her hands. Probably to draw her attention away from her painfully engorged breasts in addition to just passing the time.

------------------------

Ooh... she could feel her hands shaking. The throbbing in her chest was making it harder to focus on the enemies on screen, and at this rate she'd start making rookie mistakes. But... so long as she had something in her hands to keep her mind off the pressure in her mammary glands, she'd be able to put up with it until she got home.

And... Ayano felt strangely nervous- not just about picking up the game she'd been so desperately wanting to play, but... it was her first time going anywhere with a boy!

Or anyone, really. As she'd reminded herself earlier, she wasn't the kind of girl who had many friends (or any, to put it bluntly.)

But... Sitting with a boy at lunch, eating lunch that he'd bought for her, taking a train together... Ayano's breath hitched- not because of her aching breasts, for once, and even tuned out the death of her character on screen.

Her cheeks felt warm. Was... was she blushing?!

Oh God, she was! Her cheeks were hot and pink, reflected in the surface of her game system, and Ayano's blush deepened as the reflection gave her a good look at her exposed cleavage. Sure, there were some girls who dressed like that all the time at school, but not mousy, little Ayano! She'd never seen the logic in walking around with her boobs out and bra exposed, but here she was dressed like one of the delinquent girls at school! She liked video games of all sorts. Not boys, not doing her nails or her hair, or... whatever her fellow female students liked! In terms of hobbies, Ayano was a bit of a tomboy, even if her personality was too timid to make her one.

Feeling flustered, Ayano looked to her left- fortunately for her, Shujin wasn't looking at her at that moment. He seemed to be examining his math textbook with a strange intensity.

Hmm... Ayano had never paid much attention to Shujin in the past- all she knew was that he'd been a bit of a slacker, routinely getting scolded by the teachers for napping during class or failing to turn work in on time (or just getting poor grades in general.) Today, however Ayano had been surprised that he'd actually turned in his homework that morning on time! And not only that, but he'd been awake when the teachers had called on him (and he'd even correctly answered each question asked to him.)

But here he was, paying attention to her, one of the school's biggest loners, acting all chummy with her, and actually paying attention to his academics! Something had changed with Shujin Kou, and recently. Ayano might not have known him well, but sitting next to him each day meant that she got to observe him more than most of the other students in the school. Something about him was... different, and not just in the way that he seemed to be taking his schooling more seriously.

Ayano didn't know it, but things at school were going to get much more interesting from today on...
