Solodem.

It was a small yet bustling island hub of an secluded archipelago in Nahlegrande Skydom. In addition to its self-sufficiency, it had managed to remain largely isolated from the major ongoings that had been sweeping the different skydoms.

Today was the day of the yearly harvest festival. None of its dwellers were ready to face what was to become the greatest calamity to fall upon their lives... as well as the kindest.

A flash of light struck down near the edge of the floating island, washing the whole island in its divine glow without as much of a warning. It was impossible for any of its inhabitants to ignore, nor was the flowing landslide that sprang forth from nothing only to disappear down below the clouds, more than enough to bury their whole island many times over had its emanation been any closer. Not a single person knew what it all meant, only that it truly must have been divine.

All of Solodem watched in terror as a shape ultimately emerged to loom over the island. Its appearance was akin to a mountain that had began to walk upright, but it could not be described as such. It stood much taller than any mountain. It was standing in the open skies supported by nothing but its own two feet. The bottom of the skies, Crimson Horizon, was nothing more than a thing that was spoken of in legends and curses. It was far beyond any mortal's reach, down far enough that it might as well have been another world. And yet, not only was this being standing in it, Solodem's edge was on level with its chest; its head loomed multiple island lengths above.

People ran in panic without knowing where, people froze in fear without knowing what to do... all kinds of reactions were inspired by the mere existence of the being before it had the time to open its mouth to speak. A single incomprehensible word was spoken, and its thundering might washed over Solodem seconds after. It managed to communicate nothing more than more fear in the denizens... or it would have, were it not for a voice that followed after. Every islander's mind was filled with a different, soft-spoken voice that spoke gently to them all.

(Be at ease, mortals)

Cracks began to spread thorough the Earth Dragon's form until, in an instant, from within emerged another shape. It was just as massive as the walking mountainrange of a being had been, only much more... pleasing. Instead of a vaguely humanoid shape, the being was now recognizable as a woman, and a very beautiful one at that. She was wearing an elaborate dress that accentuated her features, not that they were difficult to ignore that this scale. The two massive landmasses that had appeared as a result to hover over the island were each alone enough to obliterate it completely. But beyond them, a calm face adorning a gentle smile was enough to assuage the skydwellers' dread.

"Solace." (I am here to fulfill my duties for but a brief moment)

She was here to...
